Great News! In yesterday's Florida Times Union, there was an article concerning the records for the graves of Veterans. The agency (VA) put on the Web 3.2 million records for veterans buried at 120 national cemeteries since the Civil War. The VA's Nationwide Locator also has records for some state veterans cemeteries and burials in Arlington National Cemetery. Private companies have put some of the information on line and charged for it, but the VA information is free. The site will be updated daily. About 80,000 veterans are buried at national cemeteries each year. Web site : www.cem.va.gov Also -- the State of Florida has online, free of charge, information concerning it's veterans, especially the Civil War. I do not remember the exact URL, but I found pension information on one of my ancestors.
