He married Martha Jane Howerton, from Claiborne Co., TN, in 1876 and they later moved to St. Joseph, MO by abt. 1890. This Bryant was the son of James and Winny Golden Bray, and I am trying to establish a conection back to the Bryant said to have been a brother to Stogner, Littleberry, etc., and son of Peter and Martha Scott Bray. What time frame are you talking about? My dad was named Clarence, but he was born in Oklahoma. I don't recognize any of the other names, but I believe some of Littleberry's line went to Indiana.

The 1891 Census shows him living on Howe St., Barrow in Furness. His wife's name was Isabella (nee Hall?) They had a daughter Isabella, sons Henry, ?, and Joseph. Joseph, b. 1896 is my grandfather who emmigrated to the US after WWI. Henry remained in England, never married or had children. Isabella married and had a daughter who lived in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. It amazes me how many Bray's there are in the southern US as it is a rare surname here in western New York state! Any information anyone has on this particular Bray line would be greatly appreciated.

Sarah and my grandfather have been deceased for over 50 years, as is my Mother and her sister. I am trying to find out what ever happened to my Mother's half-brother. If anyone has any leads on this family I would really appreciate it. I believe that Milton lived in Rockport up till the 1960's. 2. Julie Bray
    3. Hi Gail, Well, I started off with what Aunt Mary gave all of us (Brays and Bigelows--although I don't know how many of the family trees she gave out). She did family histories on the children of George Bray and Ann Hoskins and their descendants. I don't know if you got one. Mine is kind of messed up now because I've been adding things. I work at the Lake County Public Library in Merrillville, IN and we have a subscription to AncestryPlus and I've signed up for message boards and such. I'm in charge of our local history and genealogy room, so I've been learning about genealogy. I still consider myself an amateur. Anyway, the page on Anna Belle Bray includes her birth, death and marriage dates as well as where she is buried and also Melvin Bigelow's information. Their children are also listed with their birth and one death date (Ray Melvin b 9-4-04; d 3-21-14) There is a short history of their lives; where they lived and it mentions the trip to England. The information I got from the Ellis Island site lists George, Ann and Anna Belle (who is listed as "Ann") as departing from Liverpool and arriving at Ellis Island on November 15, 1894. George was 54; Ann was 51 Anna Belle was 12. I don't know when Aunt Mary compiled these histories; late '70's early '80's I think. I have other stuff from the Bray side, the Shepards (Eunice was my great-grandmother); Willis and others. Do you know anymore about other Brays in Walworth County? You probably have a lot more on the Bigelows than I do; I've only got what Aunt Mary gave me and a little that I found on Ancestry--census images. Happy Spring! I've been going to Bray/Bigelow reunions in Whitewater, WI for years. I'm bad with names and faces--do you go to the reunions? My great-aunt Mary Bray has done quite a bit of research on the Bray side and I have some Bigelow information but I'm new at this genealogy stuff. I'm curious...what was the inquiry that you were replying to? I learned through Aunt Mary that Anna Belle went back to England for a visit with her parents in 1892 and returned in 1894 (I think, I don't have my papers in front of me) on the Teutonic--a White Star ship that preceded the Titanic. I found their names on the Ellis Island site and got a copy of the page with their names on it. Their names are on the first page of the list of names right at the bottom. Well, it was fun to see a Bray that I recognized out of all the ones being routed to me. Julie Bray (daughter of Merlin, Jr.; granddaughter of Merlin)

She married Melvin Bigelow in 1900, a few scant months before my grandfather was born (Ira Clark Bigelow b. 8-25-1900). I am in the middle of moving, so my info is in one big box. What specifically are you looking for? Gail

I am always careful because these terms were used about anyone related. My great-aunt called her aunt by marriage a cousin because she was so young. Desser had a sister and I have a wonderful photo of them. Not sure how they were related but my Mother says they were called cousins and she believes they were first cousins. My Grandfather's brother was named Fred, probably for your Fred. I have some photos of the family about the turn of the century but not sure of the names.
