    1. Bulardt, (Bullard) & Bray
    2. Does anyone have any info. on Fredrick Bulardt and Sharlotta Bray? They were both born in Prussia and came to PA and then to OR. I would like to know where in Prussia they were born, who their parents were, and where and when they got married? After they came to the United States, they changed their last name to Bullard, and Sharlotta changed her name to Charlotte. I was told that they were both mercenaries when they lived in Prussia, and that they had to get a letter from Prince Phillip of Prussia stating that they could leave Prussia. Fredrick was born March 1836 or 1837 and Sharlotta (Charlotte) was born Feb. 1840. Sandra (Bullard) Mahar - Great, Great-Grand-daughter of Fredrick and Sharlotta (Charlotte) (Bray) Bulardt (Bullard)

Surnames: Poindexter Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5gF.2ACIB/528.632.639.641 Message Board Post: I have recently started research in the Poindexter family tree. I would be very interested in the information that you have regarding the Poindexter family history. So far, I have been able trace back to Rev James Poindexter and wife identified as Miss Craft (early 1800's). Their son Thomas C (I believe to be Captain) would have been my great-great grandfather. He and wife Nancy (White) had eight children. Dr James K.; Fannie; Benjamin F; Martha Angie (Angelina); Dr Gillam H; Mary L; John B; and William (b. 1852). William is my great grandfather and a judge in Cleburne, Tx. He and first wife Mary T (Chambers) had two children, Joseph (d. 1901) and Harriet. Mary (Chambers) Poindexter died in 1897. Judge Poindexter re-married in 1899 to Lissa Smith. They had nine children, Coggin; Martha; Curtis, Lewis; Gilbert; Helen; Nelson; Hugh; and my father William. My father William was a Dentist (Baylor grad) and practiced in Shattuck, Okla at the Newman clinic. He married ! Jane M. Webster from Cleburne, Tx and together they had two sons, my older brother William and me. My father Dr William Poindexter (Dentist) was plagued with rhumatoid artheritis which eventually led to his death at an early age. I was only about eight months old when he passed on. My mother re-married and mover north with her new husband Robert E. Phelps. As a result, my brother and I have had no contact with the Poindexter family since. I would appreciate any information that you might have regarding my family. Thanks and I hope to hear from you.

    3. Great News! In yesterday's Florida Times Union, there was an article concerning the records for the graves of Veterans. The agency (VA) put on the Web 3.2 million records for veterans buried at 120 national cemeteries since the Civil War. The VA's Nationwide Locator also has records for some state veterans cemeteries and burials in Arlington National Cemetery. Private companies have put some of the information on line and charged for it, but the VA information is free. The site will be updated daily. About 80,000 veterans are buried at national cemeteries each year. Web site : www.cem.va.gov Also -- the State of Florida has online, free of charge, information concerning it's veterans, especially the Civil War. I do not remember the exact URL, but I found pension information on one of my ancestors. Both parties in this marriage were widowers and Ellen's fathers name was Henry Holmes (a miner). Samuels father was Robert Bray. According to the certificate Ellen was 36 at the time of the marriage (making her born in about 1831). Samuel was either 37 or 57 I am unsure which.
