    1. BRAY, Bryant-1853-Knox Co., KY
    2. Following a BRAY reunion this summer, I received some copies of material a "cousin" (distant) had received from a woman in KY. who, from the data, would perhaps be descended from my grandfather's brother, unknown to my branch except by the name of "Will". Bryant Bray married Martha Jane Howerton in Barbourville, Knox Co.,KY April 7, 1876. My grandfather, James Edward ("Ed") Bray, was b.July 31, 1879 in Knox Co., KY. Family reports say he had a brother Will b.? and a sister Pearl b.?, m.? County certified material taken from family Bible from Carolyn BRAY Mills says Bryant's parents were another James BRAY and Winney Golden m. June 14, 1849 Knox Co., KY. Children were: William F.(Franklin) Bray b. April 30, 1850 Solomon Bray b.January 21, 1852 *Bryant Bray b. October 14, 1853 Sarah Bray b. February 27, 1855 Mary Bray b. October 21, 1857 John R. Bray b. July 17, 1860 James E. Bray b.September 28, 1862 Mills says William F. had a son William (Brown-which he dropped) Bray. His son Spencer King Bray, was her father who last lived in Waddy, KY. She herself would be about 50 now. A previous married name was Baucum, husband was killed in a fire, along with children. There is a wealth of information here, however, it is dated 1992 and mail to her last address in Burlington, KY. was returned "not at this address", and no further word has been heard. Prior to that she also lived in Falmouth. I have tried several phone searches to no avail. I would very much like to locate Carolyn Bray Mills, or anyone who might have knowledge of this bunch of BRAYs. If anything looks familiar and you would like more info, there are other records, including land grant and veterans records, which I would be glad to check for you. Thanks for any help in locating heror anybody from this line. Nancy Bray Cooper

    2. In hopes someone on this list may be as desperate as I am searching for information on the "Briley" surname, I would appreciate any and all help on Jessie Briley b. May 10,1810 in Tn. According to census there were two Jesse Briley's in the same year with different wives and children however some searchers are saying they are the same. Either he was a bigamist and a mighty fine talker if that is true. I'd like to know. Thanks.
