    3. I have transcribed and posted to my website the petition to sell the land of Paul Bratton, dec., of Hardin County, Tennessee. The direct link to the page is http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jwmurphy/pbratton.htm. Someone recently ask about Paul Bratton's will. He died intestate which means he did not leave a will. If a person died intestate and owned property, you will either find an Estate Settlement, Petition to Sell Land or a Deed which will name the children or heirs. I should say you will find them if the records still exist for the county in question. In Tennessee, the estate settlements are found in Chancery Court (C&M) while petitions to sell land are in County Court. Jerry W.
