    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: jjbratton Surnames: Bratton Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.bratton/649/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The first Bratton that I have been able to find is John (Mitchell) Bratton, born 12 Aug 1868 and died 1 Jan 1937, who is listed as living with the Stonebraker family in the 1870 Census. I know that this is my great grandfather. Unfortunately, I cannot find any other information on the family in 1870 or before. An uncle has told us that the reason he lived with the Stonebrakers is that the family home had burned. No one knows anything else about the Bratton's arrival in Worth/Rush township of Centre County so any help would be greatly appreciated.
