I have transcribed and posted to my website the petition to sell the land of Paul Bratton, dec., of Hardin County, Tennessee. The direct link to the page is http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jwmurphy/pbratton.htm. Someone recently ask about Paul Bratton's will. He died intestate which means he did not leave a will. If a person died intestate and owned property, you will either find an Estate Settlement, Petition to Sell Land or a Deed which will name the children or heirs. I should say you will find them if the records still exist for the county in question. In Tennessee, the estate settlements are found in Chancery Court (C&M) while petitions to sell land are in County Court. Jerry W. Yes...please do share whatever info you have on the PA Brattons! I have been trying to make a connection with the plentiful Mifflin Co. Pa. Brattons with my family of Brattons, especially my grandfather Harry Bratton who was born near Mifflin Co. in Tyrone. My Mom seems to recall that family history states her grandfather Blair Bratton was in a train accident, but doesn't recall if that is how he died. Looking forward to having you share your research. The children of Paul Bratton and Sarah Clark were: 1. Sarah Rachel Bratton (b. 1801), wife of Silas Rose. 2. Thomas Bratton (b. 1803). 3. William Milliken "Mick" Bratton (b. 1812). 4. Benjamin S. Nancy C. Bratton (b. 1829), wife of John Columbus Tilley. The children of Paul Bratton and Mary/Martha "Patsy"_______ were: 13. Paul Bratton, Jr. (b. 1831). 14. I am seeking information about Charles and Elizabeth Bratton. In 1918, they lived in High Street, Gnosall. These people are my greatgrand parents. The two children I know of are Alex - died 1918 at France, and Elsie - born 1895 (or around then) Elsie married Percy Robinson Draper, 30th January 1919 at Stafford England. They had two children Rita Marama Peace Draper (Batten) July 16th 1919 at Gnosall and Alec Bratton Draper born in New Zealand. I am a child of Rita and wish to start building a family tree of this side of the family. Thank you Margaret Allen wj-ml.allen@xtra.co.nz
