Surnames: Bratton, McKinstry Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FdF.2ACEB/356 Message Board Post: I am still seeking parents for my Alexander W. Bratton b.abt. 1794/96 believed to be born somewhere in PA Huntingdon County area or most likely surrounding counties. There is a Rebecca McKinstry b.abt. 1765, dau of James and Sarah Huston McKinstry, who married George Bratton, Jr. b.1757 and d.1827. I have seen several different lists of children for this couple, none of which show my Alexander W. Bratton. I just have a feeling, however, that he belongs to Rebecca/George. In Rebecca McKinstry's family are many, many Alexander McKinstrys. And the McKinstrys were located in Mifflin Co, PA, nearby to Huntingdon Co. Does anyone have a list of children for Rebecca/George based on documentation - Bible, Will, etc.? Any help appreciated. Cheryl

The Thomas Clark and Jane Bratton/Brattain in question grew up in Randolph County, NC, but I have been unable to track them after they left that county. I believe Thomas Clark was a son of Thomas Clark SR of Randolph Co NC and Sarah Clark of Orange Co NC. If I am correct, his sister--also named Sarah Clark--married Paul Bratton, the brother of Jane Bratton. Keeping it all in the family, an aunt of Paul Bratton--Rachel Brattain--married Samuel E. Clark, an uncle of Thomas Clark and his sister Sarah Clark. >

Paul Bratton's first wife was apparently Sarah Clark, daughter of Thomas Clark (c1743-1787) and Sarah Clark. Thomas Clark was born about 1743 in York County, Pennsylvania and died 11 Dec 1787 in Randolph County, North Carolina. He was the son of Samuel Clark (d. 6 Sep 1783 Randolph County, North Carolina) and Elizabeth Bennett. Sarah Clark (wife of Thomas Clark) died before 11 Dec 1787. She was the daughter of James Clark (d. 1795/6 Orange County, North Carolina) and Elizabeth_________.
