I have Brashears in my line--Benjamin Brashears--specifically. Think there are a couple of these fellows floating around! I'm looking for the father of William M. Brashears (jr.?). I show Wm. M. Brashears b. 1819 in Old Choctaw Nation (Mississippi), m 1860? to Mary Jane Collins, d. 19 Mar 1892 in Panama, OK. (Mary Jane and William were the parents of my g-grandmother--Leatha Ann Brashears.) Have just a little on Wm's father--Benjamin Brashears--who is said to have married an Indian woman--Illichihana? One source for the marriage/birth of Wm. is: Choctaw Emigration Records, 1831-1856, Vol. 1; Register of Choctaw Indians, Volume 2 nd--Fort Towson Depot: Shows Benjamin BRACHIERS, Illichihona, William, Lila, Sukey, and Anna (#38-4 3). Lists Benjamin as 31, Illichihona as 25, William as 13, Lila as 7, Sukey as 3 and Anna as 1--with date at the top of this page showing 2-11-32. Thanks for any information on Benjamin or Illichihana.
