Years ago, my parents and I met up with an elderly gentleman named Jack M. Branson. He was from Freeport, Texas. We were convinced he had to be related due to the fact he would pass for a brother to my own grandfather, Robert Williams Branson. We never made the connection between our lines. I've just found a letter we received from Jack M. Branson dated July 5, 1977 with the following information: "Here is the answers to the questions you ask (as much as I know). 1. My father's name: Lewis Marion Branson Birthdate: September 2, 1879 Birth Place: North Carolina (Do not know the town) Buried: Smithville, Texas - 1938 2. My Grandfather's name: Lewis W. Branson (Do not know what the W. is for) Birth Place: North Carolina Died and Buried: Kinmundy, Illinois 3. My father had five brothers. 4. My Great Great Grandfather came from Norway, but my Great Grandfather fought in the Revolutionary War here in America. I never kept up with my ancestors." Can anyone claim this gentleman into their line? If so, I would love to know about his family line and where he fits in. Thanks! Rebecca Branson Crofutt
