His name was David Cowan. Period of time about 1720-1750. They were in Chester County and and Lancaster Counties, Penn. Cowans Came from County Down, Ireland. Mary Fleming's father was William Fleming from Greenock, England...her mother was Mary Moore from England also. Birth date of William Fleming ca 1662. He died in Concord Township, Chester County, Penn. Our Mary Fleming was born in South Carolina ca 1699. Other brother's/or cousin's names that immigrated together were John Cowan, David Cowan, Hugh Cowan and William Cowan. May also be spelled Cowen (with an 'e'). Our Cowan/Fleming's are mentioned in Fleming's book called "Cowan's from County Down". I am also a Branson descendant of the Thomas Branson Sr. who married Elizabeth Day lineage My line is 1.
