Jacob Branson was born in Stafford County, Virginia, the 5 day of august 1771 being by birthright a member of the society of Friends. He was married to Rebecca Holloway, daughter of Asa and Abigail Holloway , also of Stafford County, Virginia, December 16, 1795, according to the order of Society of Friends. They moved to Flushing, Belmont county, Ohio in 1805 with four children. They were the parents of nine children: Abigail born November 1797 Isiah born Feb 25, 1799 Phebe born may 12, 1801 Lydia born January 20, 1803 Ann born December 22, 1803 Deborah born June 21, 1806 Aaron born April 15, 1811 Samuel born October 10, 1813 Jacob born February 16, 1817 Deaths: Jacob Branson,Sr., died June 7, 1845 in the 74th year of age. Rebecca Branson, his wife, died October 30, 1834 in the 62nd year of her age. Abigail Branson, daughter of Jacob and Rebecca died in the fall of 1815 in the 18th year of her age. Isiah Branson died January 22, 1886. Age 86 years, 10 months and 27 days. Phebe Branson Bracken, wife of Elisha Bracken died May 24, 1827 in the 26th year of her age. Lydia Branson Roberts, wife of Jesse Roberts, died August 18th; in the 34th year of her age. Deborah Branson died August 25, 1822. Age 17 years. Anne Branson died September 2, 1886 Aaron Branson died in the summer of 1876. Jacob Branson, Jr., died September 14, 1886 . Ann Branson was a prominent minister of the Society of Friends, She never married and lived to the age of 83 years. Her ministry extended over a period of years, during which time she kept a journal which was published by the Ohio Yearly Meeting of Friends in 1892. In her 80th year, she visited the New England Yearly Meeting in Westerly, Rhode Island, traveling from the Belmont County,Ohio, there, and attending all the settings for nice days and taking a prominent role in the exercises. At this time, she also attended many meetings if the Friends in and around Philadelphia, speaking with much force and fervour. Her last entry in her journal was made 5 days before her death.
