Sheriff of Taney Co., Mo. married 1st 10/9/1863 to Eliza Ann Cooper (d/o Burton Cooper and Mary Burgess) b. 1845 d. 12/4/1880 Gasconade Co., Mo. married 2nd Elizabeth David. Galba was a Corporal in the 34th Reg. Co. F. enlisted 8/1862 Canaan, Gasconade Co., Mo. Called to active duty on 4/28/1864 at Jakes Prairie and discharged 11/10/1864. Galba came to Taney Co., Mo., in 1881 and homesteaded a 160 acres 6 miles North of Branson, in the Oak Grove Community. Galba was killed while Sherriff by the Miles boys (Bill, Jim and Manuel Miles) and so was Ed Funk United States Marshall.
