Branson of New Jersey...and it is a detailed story of them in the Civil War. The tital of this book is "A War Friendship" and it came into our family on (dated) Sept. 5 1906 inscribed, " To Mother Duke, I cheerfully inscribe this little story of mans love for man" ChasWatts. Jersey City (NJ) and the date above. Both men enlisted in NJ. The Author is unknown. Should this William be in your family, I would consider giving it to you with proof that he was indeed a family member.
