Monroe Callis, 90, of Paris, Missouri died May 15, 2005 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. She was born October 31, 1914 in Osage County, the daughter of Mark and Sophie Branson Monroe. She married Charles P. Callis on November 15, 1942 in Paris. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1995. She attended school in Osage County and worked as a Singer instructor in Jefferson City as well in tailoring shops in San Louis Obispo, California and Tuscon, Arizona. She was a 4-H sewing leader and attended the Paris United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the United Methodist Women. Survivors include: a daughter, May Lou Buie and husband David of Brunswick; three grandsons; two sisters, Mabel Johnson of Jefferson City; and Lorene Worrell of Sedalia; sisters-in-law, Gene Monroe of Linn; Mary Johnson and Lou Callis both of Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Cora Ellen; and two brothers, Reed and Alvin. Funeral services held Thursday, May 19th at the Agnew Funeral Home in Paris with the Rev.
