    3. I was rather excited to start investigating the roots of Matilda Shockley. I mean after all Matilda was finally not a "John" or "William" or "Mary". Shockley wasn't a "Wilson" or "Smith". This was going to be easy, right? I entered the name in familysearch.com and OMG! Was this the most common name of the time or what????? Dozens of Matilda Shockleys appeared! If anyone has labored over the roots of Miss Matilda Shockley...wife of William Riley Branson...I'd really appreciate knowing what you have discovered. Thank you! Sharon

    3. Isaac Branson b:1833-1834 Missouri M: 3/4/1855 Gentry Co, Mo to Eliza Emiline Perry/Peery Living in Peru, Nemaha, Nebraska in 1860, Living in Hornitos, California by 1867. Isaac was well known for raising Angora goats. Anyone run into goat raising Bransons? He was related to John Sevier Branson. His father was born in Tennessee and his mother in Kentucky. Who was his father??? Was his father Reuben? I have an authorative local book that lists Reuben's 14 of Reuben's 15 children. Was Isaac the 15th despite the reported birth of Reuben's wife elsewhere?
