Posted on: Branson Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Branson/107 Surname: Branson ------------------------- I am still seeking direct descendants of Thomas Jefferson Branson/Amelia Ellen Branson. I know that it would have to be grandchildren or great grandchildren. There were 6 children by Amelia and he had 6 children by Martha Ann Barbarick. I would like to make contact with either family. Amelia's (my grandmother) maiden name was Creek. Any information appreciated. Anyone who knew Otis Ervin Branson (my dad) could also contact me.
http://www.ancestry.com Ancestry has put up the Iowa cemetery records free for 10 days...until November 3..there are over 50 Branson graves listed... You will need to look at the far right side of the ancestry home page...click on recent databases then scroll down to Iowa cemetery recrods... There are 77 of the 99 counties in Iowa accounted for.... The other thing you need to know is that these deaths happened before 1935...the walking of the cemteries in Iowa was part of a WPA project during the Depression... anne bagby
I am new to the list. My gg-grandmother was Loretta S. Branson Boore(3/18/1871-8/3/1948). Her father was William W. Branson(born 5/10/1837 in Harrison County, Ohio), son of Abraham and Ann Wilson Branson. I do have some pictures of Loretta, but have never seen any pictures of her parents and siblings. Her son, Russell Boore, was named after her brother, Russell Branson, a past Cherokee, Kansas postmaster. I have seen some entries in Ancestry.com family tree, and find it very interesting. I am hoping to find someone with pictures of Loretta's ancestors and someone who might have more information about the family. Thanks so much! Karen Thompson
In response to the request to post my BRANSON/M line, here goes. These are all mainland UK only - unless you know better:- Dear List, I wonder if any of you are able to extend the details I have of the following, all in London:- BRANSON George; he was a Stone Mason who at one time worked for Mowlem's. His wife, Mary Ann, ran a laundry. Her birth details, as with the rest of her life, are unknown, though she is known to have been born around 1840, give or take a year, and died January 31, 1919. Their daughter, also Mary Ann, was born December 21, 1862. She was married on November 27, 1883 at St John's Church, Waterloo Road, Surrey to my great grandfather, Francis Treadwell Moore, who was born at Lambeth, and who was, at this time, a Thames lighterman. The marriage was witnessed by Agnes Moore, (Sister), Louisa Thornton, (Aunt Lou, nee Moore), ? Fraser. Lousa married an alcoholic in the hope of curing him, but he died of DT's in Hanwell Asylum. Agnes lived at 95B Queens Road South Lambeth SW8. The name BRANSON was changed from about 1890 onwards to BRANSOM. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, John BRANSON died while he was still gone and it is unknown what happened to Caleb during the period he was left with another family and married Ellen in Iowa. In an undated death notice in a Pratt, KS paper, Caleb "was a fine old gentleman who lived on his farm 1 miles south of (Pratt, KS)". He died at 66 years of age from both asthma and pneumonia. Posted on: Branson Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Branson/99 Surname: Branson, Countiss ------------------------- I am looking for family of my Grandfather and his brother John. Grandfather, Charles Madison Branson b. Blacksburg, Va. 1854 d. St. Joseph, Mo. 1917. I have a copy of his death certificate which shows Father unknown, Mother maiden name Countess (or Countiss) also middle name of oldest daughter, (we were told family name.) I realize this doesn't answer your query, but first time have found family name Countiss, time frame coincides, w/sons named John and Charles, seemed enough to rule out coincidence altogether.

I guess you hear from EVERYONE that thinks they are related to THE famous Rueben Branson. I finally thought I had it all figured out, and sent it to all those with "inquiring minds" on my side. Now, I am not sure---. Whjat was your father's name? I don't have that information in front of me but seem like it went like this: or should I just give you what I know of my line. Thomas Branson, Sr. Thomas Branson, Jr. Stephen Branson Nellie Branson, my mother Betty Hale Lucas I thought my grandfather, Stephen Branson and Rueben Branson were cousins-on the same generation level. I have a book that Irene Spainhour wrote, and based on that the Bransons and Cox families intermarried. Thomas Branson, Jr. married Elvira Cox, my great-grand mother. I would be interested in hearing from you and seeing what you have. My husband and I use to got to the Branson's reunions in Mo. but haven't been there in 5 or so years. I will be looking forward to hearing from you/ Betty Lucas. As for tonight, I am shutting it down for now. We have been gone almost all day and tomarrow will be another on the go day so have to run for now.
