My line of Branson's are primarily from MO, IA, KS, and OK. Looking for any information and family members of: Caleb BRANSON (Some info taken from the 1870 Iowa Census): Father = John (?) BRANSON born approx.1800 (and poss from Ireland) Mother = Ellen (??) - born approx 1810 and d. bet 1830 & 1837 (place unk) John and Ellen had at least one child: Caleb BRANSON Caleb - b. March 3, 1825 Logan Co. OH. and d. Feb 5, 1891 Pratt, KS Caleb married Ann MARTIN on June 19, 1870 Near Silver City, IA (which would make Caleb 45 yrs old and Ann 42 yrs old when they married and 2 yrs older when they had their child! This leads me to believe there may be other marriages and children for both but no supporting documentation to "prove" that theory - yet.) Ann MARTIN: b. March 24, 1828 in KY & d. Oct 19, 1881 near Silver City, IA Caleb and Ann had only one child (that I know of so far): - Charles Marion BRANSON - b. 8-25-1872 near Silver City, IA and d. 5-22-1957 in Alva, OK Charles marries Martha Cedella ("Della") VAUGHT on 3-28-1899 in Alva, OK (Woods Co in "Oklahoma Territory") Della - b. Sept 28, 1880 near Keatsville, MO & d. Aug 2, 1973 in Alva, OK Charles and Della had 3 children (all females): - Ruby L. b. 7-21-1900 Woods Co., OK (near Burlington) d. 3-15-1972 in Okla City, OK lived in Enid OK - Zelma b. 1-11-1902 in Woods Co. OK d. 6-28-1986 in Alva, OK - LIVING daughter - (still living as of this inquiry) Any information on relatives of John, Ellen, Caleb, or Ann BRANSON would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Chuck Branson of Albuquerque; daughters, Nancy Martin of Roseville, CA and Kathy Doles and husband Paul of Seattle, WA; son, Tom Branson and wife Carla of Albuquerque, NM; 9 grandchildren, Tammy and partner Donny, Nicholas and wife Casey, Betsy and husband Mike, Meghann, Willy and wife Aimee, Angela and husband Shane, Jeremy, Summer and husband Jim, Cheri and husband Mike; 10 great-grandchildren, Katarina, Jade Corrie, Chris, Aubrianna, Travis, Shea, Nicole, Laura, Brian and Justin; brother, James Herbert Leach and wife Norma of Denver, CO and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Street and brother-in-law, Edwin Street. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1921. She served during WWII in the United States Army at Los Alamos, NM. Upon her discharge she moved to Albuquerque. For many years she worked at Lukens Re! al Estate as a receptionist. She was a beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and played in the hand bell choir for 19 years. Branson of New Jersey...and it is a detailed story of them in the Civil War. The tital of this book is "A War Friendship" and it came into our family on (dated) Sept. 5 1906 inscribed, " To Mother Duke, I cheerfully inscribe this little story of mans love for man" ChasWatts. Jersey City (NJ) and the date above. Both men enlisted in NJ. The Author is unknown. Should this William be in your family, I would consider giving it to you with proof that he was indeed a family member.
