The Thomas L. BRANSON & Elizabeth DAY family family website has been updated. There are over 1,700 entries. Please remember, it's a work-in-progress meant for leads and clues and all information must be further verified and documented. We are still looking for additional info on Thomas->Lionel "Lindell"->Lionel->Amos. (This is my line - my 4ggf Liner was possibly the s/o Amos). ANY help appreciated. Lionel 2 is listed below Amos..of course, no explanation if Lionel 2 and Amos are brothers or father and son. According to the book...it looks like Sally would be the child of Lionel 2 and Rebecca 2...I looked up Branson McKay and he is now deceased but was born in 1935..wonder if some generations are missing in there or if like my family there are some age gaps and late marriages so there are less generations in a time span. My great great grandfather was born in 1790..great grandfather in 1832..grandfather in 1888..mother in 1917... > Anne, > > In Lionel's line below, is Lionel who m. Hi Janet, Yes, it's a mystery. Searching Ancestry.com seems to favor Amos s/o Lionel & Rebecca ROGERS. But I didn't find any children. Searching on Liner (my 4ggf) does seem to favor Amos & Hannah TIMMONS as his parents but no parents for Amos. Such a brick wall! We are pretty sure that those of us who descend from Thomas BRANSON & Elizabeth DAY (which we may or may not depending on Amos' parents) started in ENG with Nathaniel BRANSON & Ann ?'s son William who was b. in ENG but d. in NJ. Yes I would love the info on Patrick WILEY and Catherine BRANSON. Thanks! I don't know but it would make sense that the Millar family would be in the same area that Lionel Branson was. Are we positive that the will we have seen for Lionel Branson is the elder Lionel and not the younger Lionel? Both had wives named Rebecca and supposedly both men died around the same time. Is this the Miller (Millar) family of Rebakah Millar who married one of the (?) Lionel Bransons in the Lost River area? _http://www.wvculture.org/history/agrext/lostrivr.html_ (http://www.wvculture.org/history/agrext/lostrivr.html) The Wardens who settled on the farm now owned by Wm. H. Warden were Presbyterians; the Millers and Bakers (the latter family being the first permanent settlers at Baker) were Baptists. Anthony Miller, a Baptist, deeded one acre of land, probably about 1835, jointly to the Baptists and Presbyterians as a site for the first church in the Lost River Valley. The people of the community built the log church which is still standing and is now used by the Union Tanning Company for a store room.

It is probable that meetings were held in the vicinity of Warrington as early as 1740, for on the 22d of 8 Mo. of that year a marriage was held at ye house of William Garretson, who resided in Warrington. This was the marriage of James Frazier to Rebecca Cox, daughter of Thomas Cox. The following is a list of the persons who signed the marriage certificate: Eleazer Mires Christopher Hussey Ann Cox JAMES FRAZIER Joseph Garretson John Garretson Anne Noblett Joshua Kenworthy Joseph Bennett Content Garretson REBECCA FRAZIER Francis Fincher John Earl Theodate Hodgin Thomas Cocks Edward Mulleanoux Samuel Underwood Mary Crage Alexander Frazier Wm. Hi Yvonne, So it could be either Rebecca Rogers or Rebekah Millar. Now, I understand what the problem is with Amos, Lionel and Rebecca Branson! Which is which and who married who and had our Amos!!! I have read a book on Quaker Genealogy on Ancestry. It seemed to be the group of Quakers that our Bransons were affiliated with. It was a very old book and it started with the families in England to Ireland and to America. It had most all of the surnames that we were dealing with in our lines. They lived in Lancaster, PA for a while. They even gave boundary lines for their properties. I live not too far from there and was going to go up for a day and try to find the properties but I think that maybe the trees and stones used to determine boundry lines back then, just may be gone. Lancaster, PA is one of my favorite places to go for the day. It's so beautiful. Yvonne, would you like the line on down from Patrick Wiley and Catherine Branson for your website. I have it and will give it to you if you want. To Bigcuzzy, I don't keep Branson siblings in my data base at this time so no to your question. Maybe in the future when I get a copy of the newest FTM. Thanks, Janet Hineman
The family that Amos is supposedly descended from came out of New Jersey into Virginia. They started out in Burlington, New Jersey. anne
