Walter was born 8 Nov 1889 in the town of Merced, Merced County, CA. He was raised in Mariposa County, a miner's son. He was, as they say, not the brightest lightbulb in the chandelier and lived with his parents lifelong. After they died, he continued residing in the same house in Stockton, San Joaquin County, CA, where the family had moved in 1914. His sister Maude Branson Chamberlin was his housemate after the death of the parents, and she survived him. Walter never married and never had children. Maude had one child, Doris Curtis, married name Fette, who in turn never had children. Descendants of Walter and Maude's other siblings, James Sutton Branson, Florence Winnifred Branson, and Ivan Thorpe Branson, are still around. Walter served in the military toward the end of World War I. In Stockton he was for many decades a firefighter. He died 16 Feb 1966 in Stockton. I keep stuff about subsequent generations off-line because I don't wish to intrude on the privacy of living individuals, but here in brief is the skinny on Blaine's family. I omit the birthdate of one sister because I believe she is still alive. From Joseph Branson and Ellen Margaret Geary (my own great-grandparents), six children: John Joseph Branson (1880-1966), Marguerite Ellen Branson (1881-1933), Alvin Arthur Branson (1883-1905), Grace Mildred Branson (1885-1974) (my grandmother), and twins Ernest Elton Branson (1891-1965) and Eldridge Geary Branson (1891-1972). These six kids were all born and raised on a ranch north of Hornitos, Mariposa County, CA near the mining outpost of Quartzburg. They moved in adulthood to various parts of California. From Eldridge Geary Branson, spouse Clara Elvaria Jackson (1892-1974), two children: Hugh Geary Branson (17 Feb 1916 - 14 Mar 1955) and Joseph Eldridge Branson (9 Jan 1918 - 1 Jul 1962). Hugh and Joseph were born, lived, and died in San Bernardino, CA. Joseph Eldridge Branson's spouse has yet to be fully identified, but her first name was something like Iva and her last name probably Laster, if not Lester, Laseter, or Lancaster. Their five children, all born in San Bernardino, were Ernest Eldridge Branson (27 Jul 1938 - Nov 1979), Joseph Geary Branson (30 Sep 1939 - 12 May 1940), Blaine Allen Branson (18 Dec 1940 - 26 Dec 1997), Anna Louise Branson (date withheld), and Gladys Janet Branson (17 Aug 1944 - 14 Aug 1985). You may note an pronounced tendency of the descendants of Eldridge and Clara Branson to die young. If anyone knows more about this group, I'd love to get the info. My inner-family records cease as of 1974 and I've had to piece the rest together from public sources.

A Henry Miller & Sibby Miller sold property on Lick Creek in Stokes Co NC July 1835. The description of the property was the same as she inherited as a single lady from her father in 1824. Both Sibby and Henry Miller signed the deed. This deed of sale was witnessed by her brother Joab Branson and Isham W. Fry. I was unable to locate them on a census record in NC after that date so this may be the same Sibella. I am unsure of her DOB but believed it might be around 1807. Mrs. Seamon, the daughter of the late Huston and Martha Branson, nee McKinney. was born on July 18, 1904 at Bland. She grew up and received her education in the Bland areas. On April 5, 1923, she was united in marriage to Arthur Seamon in Union. They were blessed with eight children. Mrs. Seamon was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur on May 27, 1943; one son, Wilbert Seamon; two brothers, Jack Branson and Fate Branson; five sisters, Mary Branson; Rebecca Nixon; Elizabeth Nixon; Viola Williams and Nora Ahart. She leaves to survive, five sons, Warren Seamon of Washington; Elmer Seamon and wife Mary Ann of Hermann; James Seamon and wife Maxine; Alfred Seamon and wife Marian; and Robert Seamon and wife Kay all of Washington; two daughters, Irene Strubberg and husband Harry; Dorothy and Ray Glandon all of Washington; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandshildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 25th at the Miller Funeral Home. Interment was in the Union City Cemetery.
