    2. Jack, My Branson line is also from Hopkins Co. KY so I thought you might be part of it. I found this on ancestry _http://trees.ancestry.com/owt/person.aspx?pid=40209930_ (http://trees.ancestry.com/owt/person.aspx?pid=40209930) . It has a George Branson b. 1790/2 as a son of Amos Branson and Hannah Timmons. They are my 5th ggp's. I descend from their daughter Catherine Branson who married Patrick Wiley and lived in Webster Co. KY after the counties of Henderson and Hopkins split to form Webster. I believe that I have found Catherine's burial site there. You might want to check with the Timmons list for an documentation for being their son. You might also the Webster Co. KY web site as they keep their 1850 & 1860 census on line and readers have added notes on their ancestors. Frequently, you can find some great information there and the person to contact. I think that this site is one of the best county sites on the US Gen Web. _http://www.rootsweb.com/~kywebste/_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~kywebste/) Good, Janet

    3. Re: George Branson line from Hopkins County KentuckyGood Morning, I have traced my Branson line in Hopkins County Kentucky back to George Branson, who married Elizabeth Reynolds in Hopkins County on 03/18/1811. Their son, Thomas Jefferson Branson, was my great-great-grandfather. I have not been able to find any information on George Branson, including the names of his parents. If anyone has any information, I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks, Jack Branson

Good to see your post. I don't have George as a son of our Amos & Hannah (although it's such an elusive family :-) in the Thomas BRANSON file but it looks correct from the website. 2. John Blair
    3. The eldest son of Eli & Keziah Hough, that appears to never have been traced, anyone ever research this??? I have information that just doesn't add up? namely that Daniel moved to Jefferson Co. TN .....and that he has a will recorded there in 1829....naming a daughter Rebecca who 1st married John Kimbrough, and 2nd Wm. Brannon. I can't locate Daniel on any census in Jefferson?????? or daughter & son-in-law?? I do locate a Daniel that makes perfect sense on the 1810-30 census in Edgefield Co. SC................any thoughts, comments, ??? The 1800 Census of Spartanburg SC makes perfect sense for the 3 daughters that are mentioned, Rebecca and 2 unnamed daughters, which matches someone's research, though I've never been to document the fact. There is a Daniel Branson on the 1850 in Edgefield Co., that very likely could be a son of Daniel. Anyone ever work on Daniel Branson???? Thanks, John B.

    1. [BRANSON] Branson line from Eli & Keziah
    2. John Blair
    3. First of all let me thank Cousin Yvonne for the work and webpage she has. I'm presently working on the descendents of Eli & Keziah as well as some of the other further back lines. I will submit those to Yvonne as I progress. One thing that just caught my attention with an earlier query was an Eli Branson with a son named Levi (so what else is new?) in Randolph Co. NC....which is next to of course Chatham/Almance/Guildford etc. What has caught my surprise is it doesn't appear that much work at all has went into researching this Branson family that existed here on the 1850-60 census as Daniel & Thomas are found on the 1790 census here. Without a doubt, we need the children of Daniel and Thomas, as well as other gaps. Hoping to really work hard on this family (descendents of Eli & Keziah) I'm a 5th great-grandson of Eli through daughter Mary Jones. John B.

    3. Greetings! I'm also working very hard on the descendents of Eli & Keziah, have quite a bit....the only Levi Branson I've found so far with an 1846-47 or even close birthdate, is the son of Eli & Mary Branson in Randolph Co. NC......Eli's, Levi's..............have become a nightmare, but hey I'm making progress! Cousin Cindy, I've found one of your Levi's neices moved to Floyd Co. Georgia as well. John B. (a descendent of Mary Branson Jones, dau. of Eli & Keziah.)

    1. Re: [BRANSON] Branson line from Eli & Keziah
    2. Thanks Sharon, however the Sevier county line isn't my line. Eli's son Levi, and grandson, Levi Asbury went from New Jersey, to North Carolina, to South Carolina, and then eventually to Georgia. Now the first Levi does seem to go to Tennessee at some point, but it's his son Levi Asbury that my line descends from and they don't go to Tenn. With using the same names, it becomes very confusing. 3. I have tried to find these people for you and I'm left scratching my head. I can find Levi and Penelope (listed as Mary E in the 1900 census, Penelope E in the 1870 and P.E. in the 1880) all in Sevier county. Langstons seem to be in Sevier Co not Jefferson but I couldn't find her young. In 1870 their son is James A., 2 yrs old. In 1880 sons listed as J.A., JC, WT and BM In 1900 still at home are John, Daniel, Benjamin, Mary E. and Effie. I wonder if this family is related to the Bransons in Grainger Co. Those were descendants of Absalom Branson (born 1740). I've always believed that Absalom was related somehow to Jared - perhaps a brother but still unproven. Happy Hunting! 2. Hi John and Mary, I read your queries with interest. I am also a Branson descendant but from Amos Branson from WVA to KY. I have several Quaker lines that connect with the Branson line. While I was doing research, I was lead to the Quaker Meeting Houses in the Guilford, Co. NC area. One was the New Garden Meeting House which is still active and next to Randolph County, NC _http://www.ngfm.org/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=61_ (http://www.ngfm.org/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=61) Here is the web site for Friends Meeting Houses in several states including NC. There are 2 Meeting Houses listed for Asheboro in Randolph Co. NC. Perhaps, you can find the answer that you are looking for here. And while you are at it, you might take a look to see if you had ancestors that came over on the ship Welcome with William Penn. On this page are other Quaker links. _http://www.pa-roots.com/~chester/quaker_info.htm_ (http://www.pa-roots.com/~chester/quaker_info.htm) I hope that you can find your answer somewhere on these web sites. However, it seems unlikely considering my lineage is so short. Do you know of anyone that has such a short line as I do?? As far as I can determine, Thomas L. is my ggggg-grandfather - - basically there is 7 generations between me and Thomas L. That's why I'm thinking it's going to be hard to find anyone close . .
