Brannigan” at an antique shop in Morris, Illinois. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops (with names on the back and locations on the front) and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. This picture was taken by the “J. G. Carwall Studio, 1624 W. 47th St., corner of Marshfield, Chicago”, and it is my estimate that it was taken in about 1900-1910, give or take a few years. John is a handsome young man about age 30 +or- a few years. He has dark hair, and is wearing a shirt, tie and outercoat and a pin attached to a chain, similar to those work by a brotherhood of some sort. The picture is itself 4- ¼” x 6” and is an original, mounted on a heavy card stock frame of 6” x 9”, as was typical during that time period. The picture is in very good condition.
