    3. Hello, I am Jim Jackson and have been granted the privilege of serving as your list administrator. I look forward to working with you in this capacity. Always feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. If you send your private messages to <[email protected]> they will get my attention more quickly. It is quarterly report time and so I will report to you that we have 14 members in "L" mode and 8 members in "D" mode. ("L" means you receive individual messages. "D" means you receive digests of several messages compiled together.) If it has been a while since you sent in a message, now might be a good time to do so, listing your "brick walls" and anything else you wish to share about your family research. Best wishes, Pops (Jim Jackson)

    2. Peter Brannigan
    3. Hello Kathy, I'm researching BRANNIGAN's from Drogheda, Louth. According to my Aunts, my ggrandfather Christopher, was born in Drogheda( in the year of the new bridge; 1855 ) one of twins, brother Philip. I obtained the film of the St.Peters' R.C. church records to check it all out. I found a record of twins Christopher & Philip to John & Margaret BRENNAN in 1855. I knew of an older sister of Christopher, & she appeared, Mary, to John & Margaret BRANNIGAN. I then found the marriage of John BRANNIGAN & Margaret CAMPBELL, & another son. There were no other mentions of a John & Margaret BRENNAN, so I assume for some reason the surname appears incorrectly in my ggrandfathers case. I wouldn't say they were interchangable surnames, however , mistakes are made, & it's always wise to be very flexible regarding surname spellings & variations. Good luck, Peter Brannigan, Cairns, Australia ----- Original Message ----- From: "kathy hamby" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, May 11, 2002 11:09 PM Subject: Annie Brennan / Brannigan > hello! my gr,grandmother was born Jul 5th 1866 in or near Gortacar > County Tyrone. > on her death record it says her maiden name was > ANNA BRENNAN but i just spoke with an uncle and he swears she told him > that her maiden name was BRANNIGAN, that she had 13 brothers and > sisters, that she landed in Phila PA on Apr 1st 1881 and that a sister > named SARA immigrated with her (and this sister married a FITZGERALD). > so could anyone here possibly tell me if Brennan and Brannigan are kind > of like McDonald and MacDonald?????? > thank you > kathy > > Researching; Dougherty, McLaughlin, Gordon, MacDonald McDonald, Brennan > and Shephard in Canada, Ireland, and Phila PA > Vollmer (Fulmer), Renz (Rentz), Brauch, Schumacher (Shoemaker), Muller, > Blinn and Hofmann in Germany, Ohio and Indiana > Baer (Beyer), Paszotta, Carney (Craney), Shutt, Meyers and Jones in > Germany, Delaware, Indiana and Philadelphia > - --------------------------------------- > list "mom" for; [email protected] > [email protected] [email protected] > [email protected] [email protected] > [email protected] > - --------------------------------------- > my home page: > http://community.webtv.net/kathy556/DoughertyGordonBaer >

    1. John J. Brannigan Sr.born ca 1880, and IN Chicago 1910
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RdF.2ACIB/73 Message Board Post: I recently purchased a Victorian studio photograph of “John J. Brannigan” at an antique shop in Morris, Illinois. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops (with names on the back and locations on the front) and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. This picture was taken by the “J. G. Carwall Studio, 1624 W. 47th St., corner of Marshfield, Chicago”, and it is my estimate that it was taken in about 1900-1910, give or take a few years. John is a handsome young man about age 30 +or- a few years. He has dark hair, and is wearing a shirt, tie and outercoat and a pin attached to a chain, similar to those work by a brotherhood of some sort. The picture is itself 4- ¼” x 6” and is an original, mounted on a heavy card stock frame of 6” x 9”, as was typical during that time period. The picture is in very good condition. If John is your family or if you can relate to a Brannigan family in Cook Co., IL in that time frame, please Email me directly at [email protected] and I will get back to you soon
