I just received from Burke County, NC Archives a copy of the marriage bond for Giddian Bradsher (Gideon Bradshaw) and Mary Ennis. Gideon was named after Gideon Thompson, father of Elizabeth Thompson. They were married in Burke County July 26, 1816. Gideon was supposedly son of Isaiah Bradshaw and Elizabeth Thompson. I have also been told he was the son of William Seth Bradshaw and Anna Lowe. Does anyone have any proof of who his parents were? Also, on the marriage bond it states, "Know all men by these presents, that we Giddian Bradsher and Isaac Bradsher . . ." Would this be Gideon's first cousin, son of William Bradshaw and Charlotte Williams or is there another Isaac? Does anyone have any clues? Thanks. Alene Bradshaw [email protected]
