BEALE, BREWER, BRADSHAW, MARTIN, COPELAND, LASSITER, FUTRELL, DICKERSON - I have information & I am seeking information on these lines, & on Jordan & John BEALE, & Robert BEALE & Holland BREWER BEALE, both of Isle of Wight Co., Va., who were married on Oct 29 1789 in Southampton Co., Va. Holland was the dau of William BREWER [d. 20 May 1778] & Martha of Isle of Wight Co., VA, & the granddau of William BREWER Sr. [d. 24 Feb 1749 Newport Parish, Isle of Wight Co. Va.] & Catherine. William BREWER is thought to be the son of John BREWER III, b. 1650, Isle of Wight Co., Va. After Robert BEALE's death in 1797, Holland BREWER Beale married Jeremiah BRADSHAW 4 Feb 1802. Robert BEALE & Holland BREWER BEALE had a daughter [?] & a son, Jordan BEALE [b. 10 Jan 1797 VA & d. 22 Dec 1857] of Potecasi, Northampton Co., NC. Jordan became a wealthy planter, merchant, justice of the peace & was the first postmaster of Potecasi, NC. Jordan married Rachel LASSITER abt 1819 & later married Thomas L! . COPELAND's widow, Elizabeth (Eliza) MARTIN COPELAND on 28 Mar 1842. Rachel LASSITER was the daughter of Joseph LASSITER & Elizabeth FUTRELL & the granddaughter of Sanders FUTRELL & Rachel DAUGHTRY who m. Sep 1767, & Jesse LASSITER & Mary who m. 1767. Sanders FUTRELL's mother was Elizabeth DICKERSON, daughter of John [d. 1749] & Rebecca DICKERSON [d. 1753]. All noted ancestors are thought to have lived in Isle of Wight Co., Va. and/or Northampton Co., NC. Robert BEALE, d. 1797, came from Isle of Wight Co., VA & is felt to be related to & may have been the brother of John BEALE who later lived in Northampton Co., NC. John was the father of William G [of Murfreesboro, NC in 1834], Andrew Jackson, b. 1815 Potecasi, Northampton Co., NC [& who moved to Calloway Co., KY], Robert T [of Murfreesboro, NC in 1834] & Mortimer BEALE.
