The 1860 census of Caldwell Co. NC shows Caroline(20) and J.E. Crump(25) with Mary(2) and Martin(4/12) Crumpliving next to Samuel Craige(57),Caroline (27) Craig,Alfred(25),Elisha, L.A. (17) Craige and May (Mary?) Bradshaw (77). I believe Caroline was counted at both farms and her mother had already died. Our understanding is that Caroline's grandmother Bradshaw never married. Do you have any records to cover this area including the names of Caroline's grandparents? John Eli and Elijah H. Crump lived near Martin son of Conrad Crump as well as Samuel Craige so the families were very close. I recently had a person claim that Caroline did not marry John Eli Crump but a Henry Bean.
