Yes, I've seen that before, too. However, my William was married by 1767. That is at least 15 years earlier than any of the rest of John and Margaret's children. I don't think he was one of theirs. If he was, who was the William that married 1783 to Mary Kirkland? My William left for Pittsylvania county by 1769. This entry appears in the 1763 tax list of Nottoway Parish, Amelia Co., VA: Bradshaw, William 3 tithes (including Wm. Bradshaw, Jr. & John Bradshaw) I interpret this to mean that there was a head of household in 1763 named William Bradshaw. He had two other adult males in the same household: Wm., Jr. and John. Who was this elder William? (John III's brother?) Were Wm., Jr. and John his sons? Where was John III living in 1763? He seems to disappear from the Amelia Co., VA tax lists between 1755 and 1762.
