Have seen the name both ways in documents, so not sure which is correct. Don't know what line it is. He was married to a Katherine Hume, b. IL. C. A. was born in Louisville, Kentucky. They were living in Nebraska at one point where some of the children were born. Appears they may have divorced or separated at some point after 7 children. I have a family photo with C. A. and children, but no Katherine. I have found her in the Lincoln, NE census, alone. I have just pieced together this family from census, death certificates, notices, etc. so everything is very misconnected. Trying to establish some hard facts. On his daughter's death certificate (Sarah, age 29) he is listed as C. A. and her mother is listed as "Susan"?? But that report was given by Sarah's husband's uncle, so that may not be trustworthy. So C. A. may be C. L. afterall. Have I confused you sufficiently? It would be wonderful if you have somet! hing to give me a clue for further searching. Thank you so much.
