Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HWF.2ACEB/1356 Message Board Post: I have traced the Bradshaw line of my family back to James Bradshaw, who was born in approx. 1748 in Lancashire He married Margaret Pooley(born abt 1755, Sefton, Lancashire) on 12 August 1776 in Sefton. He was buried on 20 May 1816. On their marriage records, James is listed as being of Grange. I have found out that James was assistant warrener to the Earl of Sefton, and that one of his warrens was at a place called The Grange, in Altcar, Sefton. The only information I have been able to find on him was in the Molyneux (Earls of Esfton's) archives, and that he was attacked while stopping vandals (The Royal Gang) at Lord Seftons warren near Crosby, Sefton. However, I have no information on who his parents could be. James' first son was called Robert, and as it was common to call the first son after the father's father, I searched for a Robert Bradshaw in the area and found Robert Bradshaw, born 1707 in Little Crosby, Sefton, and Robert Bradshaw, born abt. 1700 in Formby. I believe his mother may have been called Anne or Mary. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks a lot, Tom.
