    1. Re: [BRADSHAW] Bradshaws
    2. My John showed up in Knox (Indiana Territory) but now Illinois in the early 1800s. They settled in and around Union/Johnson Counties for about 15-20- years and John was a prominent farmer, landowner, Road Commissioner, Justice of the Peace, etc. In the early 1800s the family left for the new settlement on the Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma border and are next found on a petition to name the area Miller County. The area was mistaken to be US Territory but was actually part of Mexico and Indian Lands. They left and are next found in Jefferson County, Ark census 1830-1835. Names are John, JohnJR., Young E. Sherrod and a Y.E. who were on the petition are not on the census in Jefferson. Sherrod later shows up in Sevier County, Ark. I believe Young E. to be my Greatgreat grandfather. Something happened about 1836-1839, I believe he died because Nancy, his wife and children are back in Union County Illinois in the 1840 census with Nancy as head of household. Her family, the Tripp's, were from Ill. In Union County Ill. 1845 Mrs. Nancy Bradshaw married Henry Hunter. This is the information that I have been wrestling with for years. I can't seem to move forward to find out what happened to Young E. or back to where ever they were before 1804. I keep hoping someone will respond with a lead or link that will clear this up. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Thanks, Sharon
