The following is a copy of the will of Charles Bradshaw of Weakley County, TN. (This Charles was the son of William Bradshaw II) Good luck. Charles Bradshaw Last Will & Testament Recorded April the 18th 1828. In the name of God - Amen I Charles Bradshaw being of sound mind and memory but in feeble health doth hereby make this my last will and testament revoking at the same time all others previously made. In the first place, I give and bequeath to my son John a negro woman named Easter and a negro boy named Wonder. I give to my son Gideon T. Bradshaw a negro woman named Hannah and a negro girl named Maria. I give to my daughter Polly two negro girls Jinny & Caty or Catharine. To my daughter Susanna I give one Sorrel mare and one feather bed & furniture. To my daughter Rebecca I give one bay horse and one bed and furniture -- My old negro woman Francis I wish to be set free. To my Beloved wife Lucretia I give and bequeath during her natural life three negroes, Cynthia, Fannie and James, at her death I wish them set free their offspring, if any, in the mean time I wish divided among my five last children by my wife Lucretia. My stock of cattle, hogs, household and kitchen furniture I give and bequeath to my wife Lucretia and at her death to be sold and equally divided among all my children. All moneys due me I wish collected as speedily as possible and after paying my just debts the balance I wish divided equally among all my children. I Hereby constitute and appoint my son John Bradshaw and my friend William Baldridge Sr. Executors to my last will and testament. In testimicsing (can't read for sure) whereof I have hereinto set my hand affixed my seal the 16th day March in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and twenty-eight. Rachael was sister to Ann who m. James Blackwood and sister to Elizabeth who married Isaiah Bradshaw brother to Charles. The children mentioned by name (2 sons John & Gideon T. and 3 daughters Polly, Susanna and Rebecca) are the children of Charles and Rachael. Rachel died in 1807. The “five last children”, as far as I have been able to ascertain, are by his second wife Lucretia.
