Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HWF.2ACEB/1254.1 Message Board Post: The name for Bradshaw Mountains seems to have originated from a mad California Pioneer, William, "Bill", "Bunk", Bradshaw, who pioneered the Bradshaw Trail from Los Angeles to Ehrenburg (do I spell that right ?) in th gold ruch days. He had a brother Isaac Bradshaw who was Marshal around there, and is probably buried nearby. William and his brothers were fron Buncombe County, North Carolina..hence his nickname "Bunk". Time line... circa 1845...1855... There are a number of books available on the Bradshaw Trail...perhaps some info on California touring website...
