ABSALOM Bradshaw is married with the (first child) in St.Clair/ (Randolph)/MONROE County in 1812 ---- and a brother JAMES who has moved from Kentucky with wife and four children by 1812 ---- they are in the Militia. JDB.Good Luck I am inclined to think there is a connection to Field Bradshaw ------------- > MY CLUES > > > I am still on the search for Young E. Bradshaw, Union County, Illinois. > 1. My first record of him was 8/26/1819 10th Regiment, Illinois State Militia > 2. He married Nancy Tripp in Cape Girardeau, Mo. 5/8/1821 > 3. His name appears on the 1825 Miller County petition, Indian Territory, of > Arkansas/Texas, to the US President. These were settlers who were made to > leave the area under a territorial dispute. > 4. He is then found in the 1830, 1831,1832,1833,1834,1835 Jefferson County > Arkansas tax lists. Also 1835 Johnson County Tax List and in Lawrence County, > Arkansas 1833 census. > 5. He seems to have vanished after the mid 1830s. His wife Nancy Bradshaw > was back in Union County Illinois as head of household in the 1840 census. In > 1845 in Union County Illinois she married Henry Hunter under the name of Mrs. > Nancy Bradshaw. She had two (maybe three) children with Young E.. Jacob O. > Bradshaw b. 12/18/1825 is my 2x great grandfather. > 6. The Bradshaws left Union County Illinois in the early to mid 1820s and > went to Arkansas. The names that show up frequently are John, Sr., John, Jr., > Jacob, Sherard and William. JohnSr., have been the father, grandfather, Uncle or > Brother to the rest of them. He may have had two families. He signed as > John Bradshaw Esquire in Illinois, was JP, judge, etc., > 7. MY QUESTIONS ARE: Was JohnSr., patriarch of this family? Where were they > before they were in Illinois beginning in 1807? What happened to Young E., > was he killed or did he die about 1836 or did he head west? Are there any > Arkansas Bradshaws who are related to this family? > 8. 11/29/1846 Jacob O. Bradshaw married Elizabeth Lemley in Union County > Illinois. > They are buried in Brooks Cemetery. In the Scottish Irish > settlements a Mary Commack was a young widow of John BradshawSr., died shortly > after > his only child JohnJr., born. She married a Frances Dollarhide and had several > half siblings to John, JR. I find the Dollarhide and Young names appearing > over and over with the Bradshaws in Maryland, NC, West Virginia, Kentucky, > Illinois and finally on the Miller County Arkansas petition.
