On 2nd October, 1862 he married Ellen Russell in Waikouaiti, Otago, New Zealand. They had a duaghter Mary Jane Bradshaw on 15th September, 1877 in Port Chalmers, New Zealand. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HWF.2ACEB/1313 Message Board Post: Audrey Bradshaw beloved mother and grandmother left us to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on October 31, 2003. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 39 years, Richard Bradshaw. Audrey is survived by her three children, Greg Bradshaw of Cardiff, Leslie Bell of Scripps Ranch, Jennifer Schiller of Hesperia, and six grandchildren who she loved very much. Audrey lived and raised three children in the San Diego area for 25 years until other opportunities took her and Richard to Ontario, Calif. in 1977. Audrey was a member of the Lions Club, Ontario Chapter for many years, donating time and love to many charities. Audrey moved from Ontario in 1993 to retire in Hesperia, Calif., and be closer to her daughter Jennifer and her family. There was nothing Audrey liked better than having all her children and grandchildren for the holidays. Nothing seemed to phase her as long as the kids were there and the stove was going. Mom will be dearly missed, but her ! family will find comfort knowing that she is with Richard and her Lord. Services will be held at High Desert Church in Victorville on Wednesday, November 5, at 1 p.m. and another Service on Friday, November 7, at 2 p.m. at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego. Published in the San Diego Union-Tribune on 11/5/2003. (volunteer submission)

We are trying to find the link between us and your line. There are many similarities in names. We also have a connection to Burke Co N.C., as your line does. I have put together 11 pages in MS Word of your line, looking for a connection - info I have gathered from several years on the Internet. After leaving North Carolina our branch traveled to Texas, then Arkansas and Oklahoma and finally to Washington State. Our oldest known Bradshaws are William Seth Bradshaw (1819-04/10/60) who married on 04/01/1841 Lavina Mercilla Chastain (04/29/c1829-c1898). We have Lavina's ancestry back to the original Chastains in Virginia (PierreChastain Sr.). The Bradshaws and Chastains were very close families as they endured severe hardships in 1700 Virginia. Does anyone know of any connection? I will gladly send my two Bradshaw "lines" I have put together. We are fairly positive our two branches are connected, but haven't been able ! to do so yet. Send any email to Jim Heppell, Wenatchee, Washington starjim@charter.net

I've spent years trying to unravel this family secret. My grandfather was James Bradshaw born 1888. His father was James Bradshaw (1844). Both were born in Philadelphia. My grandfather had a half brother named Edwin (1900) who I find in the 1930 census living in Idaho with his wife Edith. My grandfather also had a stepmother named Lorena Dennison from Ohio. His grandfather was James Bradshaw as well and his grandmother was Isabella. He had an aunt Isabella who married Joseph Reynolds Reed (the son of Jacob Reed) and had 2 cousins Isabella and Marion Reed. He also had a spinster aunt named Rachel. The family home was 1147 South 9th St in Philadelphia. In the early 1900's my grandfather moved to Jersey and changed his name and lost all contact with his family. I have spent years trying to find descendants.

    2. Would any of you who are researching John Bradshaw know if there is any connection to the John Bradshaw who was in Southern Illinois 1804. First in Knox, Randolph, Johnson and Union Counties? This branch of the Bradshaw's moved to Arkansas Territory in the early to mid 1820s. Names are William, Young E. and John, Sr., and JohnJr., Sherrod. They were in the group of settlers that first went to the Red River area and their names show up on a petition to the President to name the area Miller County. It turned out to be Indian lands and the settlers dispersed. The Bradshaw's show up in Jefferson County, Arkansas 1830-1836. Sharon Bradshaw-Hampton
