    2. My John showed up in Knox (Indiana Territory) but now Illinois in the early 1800s. They settled in and around Union/Johnson Counties for about 15-20- years and John was a prominent farmer, landowner, Road Commissioner, Justice of the Peace, etc. In the early 1800s the family left for the new settlement on the Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma border and are next found on a petition to name the area Miller County. The area was mistaken to be US Territory but was actually part of Mexico and Indian Lands. They left and are next found in Jefferson County, Ark census 1830-1835. Names are John, JohnJR., Young E. Sherrod and a Y.E. who were on the petition are not on the census in Jefferson. Sherrod later shows up in Sevier County, Ark. I believe Young E. to be my Greatgreat grandfather. Something happened about 1836-1839, I believe he died because Nancy, his wife and children are back in Union County Illinois in the 1840 census with Nancy as head of household. Her family, the Tripp's, were from Ill. In Union County Ill. 1845 Mrs. Nancy Bradshaw married Henry Hunter. This is the information that I have been wrestling with for years. I can't seem to move forward to find out what happened to Young E. or back to where ever they were before 1804. I keep hoping someone will respond with a lead or link that will clear this up. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Thanks, Sharon

    3. To Judy (cowlady51@gosympatico.ca) & other Bradshaw researchers: Would like to hear how your Bradshaws came to North America, when, from where in England/Brit Isles. Did they happen to go to the West Indies first, then go on to North America? This is important. My direct line goes back to Charles Bradshaw, brother of Field. I have a lot of information regarding my line and would be happy to send a gedcom to you. My information regarding Field Bradshaw gets a little 'hazzy' when we get down to Jonas and Josiah Bradshaw. What documentation I have is from the Lincoln Co, N.C. Heritage Book as well as "My Bradshaws and Their Allied Familes" by Carrie Bradshaw Bolin. I would like to have some information relating to this line, especially where I can go to find other documentation. Your very distant cousin, Joan Bradshaw Bomkamp

    2. Jerry/Shirley Ward
    3. Will try this query again in hopes a new subscriber has this woman in their lines. I am looking for a Temperance Bradshaw, parents unknown. According to census records and family tradition she was born in North Carolina. Census records and marker in cemetery give her birth year as 1831. She married Alfred (Alford) Fitzgerald in Tennessee. They moved to Howell Co., Missouri. Alfred died and Temperance, with her children, were on the way back to her family in Tennessee when she met and married Hiram Ray Dickson at Ironton, Reynolds Co., Missouri. She remained in Reynolds Co., MO the rest of her life. She died in 1906. I would appreciate any clues to the early life of my great-grandmother. Shirley Ward

    2. Joanne Legits
    3. Looking for Justice Bradshaw, also known as Justus, nicknamed Jud, who was age 33 (b. abt 1847) on the 1880 Logan Co., IL census. He was with his family: wife Harriet 24, children Nellie 6, Addie 4, Evert 3 and Clara 1. The census says he was born in Ohio, and his parents also. Later children include Wilmer, Dora, Robert (called Loda), Elva, Earl and William. The family moved to Iowa in 1885-6 where he died in 1889. I am trying to find him living with his parents prior to the 1880 census. Who were they?
