Hi Bob, You have lots of good information to start your records search with. Contact your birth and death states for copies of the original records. Usually, birth and death records are kept at the vital statistics division for the state. You might want to try the county level first though. They will be glad to send them to you. The best way to do that is to send them a letter with your request and make sure you include a stamped, self addressed envelope. They will contact you and tell you if they have the record and if they do, they will tell you the cost. Send them your check and they will send you copies of the original records. When you get them, please share them with the list. Hope this helps. Anne

Have been following the various lines you have been posting and may have just missed this. Would like more information about JAMES BRADSHAW son of JOHN BRADSHAW and ISABELLA NANCY MCKAMIE of Pocahontas Co. Can anyone help? Thanks Joyce
Hi: This is my first time to msg the list, so I hope I'm doing it right. I read the excellent information about Lincoln Co. (NC) Bradshaws that Betty J Turner recently sent out. I thought maybe I could tie my family line into it, but couldn't. I have a lot on the Milners, but nothing more on the Bradshaws. Can anybody help me? F.M. Bradshaw was my g-grandfather. F.M.'s names may be Field and/or Monroe. A cousin thinks it was Field, but has no proof. On the other hand, the "Historical Records of Randolph County, Ala. 1832-1900," p. 115, gives the death register "Monroe Bradshaw, 2/25/86, birth GA, age 60, male, white, married, farmer, heart disease, Beat 12, P.G. Trent MD." This doesn't match the birthplace or age, but it does match on death date and location. F.M. Bradshaw and wife, Nancy Caroline Milner, are buried in the church cemetary at Bacon Level, AL. HIs tombstone reads "F.M. Bradshaw, Born Near Lincolnton, N.C., Dec 24, 1818, Died in Randolph Co., Ala., June 12, 1902" It has an unreadable poetry quote and a Masonic emblem. Her stone reads "N.C. Bradshaw, Born in Jasper Co., Georgia, 1826, Died in Randolph Co., Ala., June 12, 1902. She was a kind affectionate wife, a fond mother and a friend to all." According to the book "History of Harris County Georgia 1827-1961" by L.C. Barfield, F.M. and Nancy were married in Harris Co., GA on 11/15/1843. I know of four children: 1. Amanda, b. 1844 in GA, married George T. Banks on 11/18/1865. 2. Susan, b. 1846 in GA, married Leroy W. Lynn on 12/29/1859. 3. Mary, b. 1850 in GA. 4. Robert Lee Bradshaw (my grandfather) b. 9/8/1867 in Harris Co. GA, d. 5/12/1930 in AL. Buried Bacon Level, AL. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bob Bradshaw

Hi William, If you go to: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl you can enter the BRADSHAW surname. When you get the next screen, enter Isle Of Wight. In '98 & '99 there are some messages about this county. I have contacted Burt to see if he would post to the list with his information for you since he is researching I.O.W. also. I have a little info. that I got from J. Douglas BRADSHAW'S book. Most of what I have is in the archives. Hope this helps you. Anne
This is the biography I found on Robert William Bradshaw. Any connections? History of Todd County, Kentucky, ed. J. H. Battle, 1884, F. A. Battey Publishing Co., 1884, p. 289. [Elkton Precinct] ROBERT BRADSHAW, farmer and miller, two miles south of Elkton, Todd County, was born in Halifax County, Va., on the 22d day of May 1834, and is the son of Benjamin and Lucy (Wilkinson) Bradshaw, who came from Virginia to Kentucky in 1840. They settled in the southern portion of Todd County, purchased a farm, on which Benjamin died, and where his widow is now living. They had a family of seven children, as follows: James, Robert, Joseph, Benjamin, Martha, Richard and Charles Bradshaw, the latter of whom is deceased. The subject of these lines, Robert Bradshaw, attained his manhood in this county; was reared on the farm, meantime attending the common schools. In early manhood he learned the carpenter's trade, at which he labored for a few years, since which time he has devoted his time to agriculture, combined with which he owns and operates a flouring-mill. This mill is noticed in the history of Elkton Precinct. Mr. Bradshaw, in 1861, married Miss Fannie Link, daughter of William and Martha Link, one of the old and honored families of the county. She was born in Todd County, April 9, 1844. Their children, six in number, are as follows: Ida, Charles, Vertie, Claude, Herbert and Melrose Bradshaw. Mrs. Bradshaw and the older children are members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. No mention in this work of the Bradshaw connection is necessary to establish their reputation for honor, as they are respected, wherever known, for their sterling worth as citizens. If interested I have a copy of the original pardon that John Franklin Brashaw received when he was released from Point Lookout as a prisoner during the Civil War. My father has the original copy that came down through his family by John's daughter Aunt Sis who lived with my father's family until her death. I also have a plot of the original 181.25 acres that John bought when the property was sold and a copy of the 1.03 acres that is now the Bradshaw Cemetery in Lincoln Co. Also other original wills and deeds belonging in this family. If you are interested please contact me and I will try to help. I am looking for any information on Samuel Bradshaw and wife, Sallie Rhoades Bradshaw. They lived in Tishomingo, Ms about 1820s. Sallie Rhoades Bradshaw was either half of full blood Choctaw Indian. They had three children: Elisha b 1810 William M. b 2 Oct 1812 Tenn Rebecca b? I have gotten this information from the testimony of the application of William Henry Bradshaw, son of William M., to the Department of Interior, Commission to the Five Civilized Tribes. A large group of the family was applying for their Indian rights. Sallie Rhoades Bradshaw took lands in Ms rather than go with the tribe to OK after the treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek in 1830. The family lived in Tishomingo, Ms and later in Newton County. During the Newton County stay, Sallie left her husband and rode off behind a man on a horse. We do not know if this is a relative of Sallie or her lover. My descendant, William M. Bradshaw, later lived in Ala and Ark and his children migrated into Texas and lived in Red Rock, Bastrop County, Texas. Any help would be appreciated as I am only a beginning researcher.
