I glanced inside the front cover flap and was astonished to find the picture described as "Detail from the BRADSHAW FAMILY by Johann Zoffany" It showed a man wearing a wig, two women, two small girls, and one young boy.

    3. -- [ From: Bradford E. Carter * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- Debbi, Here is my Family Tree Maker genealogy report on Mary Bradshaw and George Hunt. The extra numbers (e.g. at the end of each year) refer to the endnotes (sources). Generation No. 1 1. Mary P.3 Bradshaw (Thomas Jefferson2, Thomas1)1,2,3,4,5 was born Abt. 1836 (6). She married George H. Hunt7,8 14 Oct 1855 in Wilson Co, TN9. Notes for Mary P. Bradshaw: Assumed that Mary married George Hunt and that the family living next to her is probably her father, Thomas Bradshaw. The 1870 Wilson Co, TN Census shows the head of household to be Mary Hunt, age 36, b in TN and a James Bradshaw, age 24, living with her. He is probably her brother, James Edward Bradshaw, who was born in 1846. Notes for George H. Hunt: According to Sammie Bradshaw Major, George Hunt was killed in the Civil War. (I haven't verified this). Children of Mary Bradshaw and George Hunt are: 2 i. Elizabeth4 Hunt, born Abt. 1848 (10). 3 ii. Margaret Hunt, born Abt. 1857 (11). 4 iii. James Hunt, born Abt. 1859 (12). 3. While going through papers that came from my oldest Bradshaw aunt (Annie Bradshaw Thompson) I found a Christmas card signed Jim and Mary Bradshaw and sons James V. Richard and Thomas There is a letter inside dated Dec. 13, 1978 and came from Sheridan, Ark. It seem this family had visited the area (Lincoln and Gaston Counties in North Carolina doing research on their family. Letter states as follows: We still don't know much about the Bradshaws. We did learn that grandpa John had three brothers. They were Tom, Sid and William (Billy) Billy came to Ark. but we haven't learned what happened to Sid and Tom. Mr. and Mrs. Barker who were with us when we came by your place showed us around the country and where Jim's folks lived when they left for Ark. I just wish we had tried years earlier when the older folks were still living. (There is more about how the family is doing, etc.) Then it is signed by Mary Bradshaw Is this anyone on the list or anyone's relatives? In 1978 Aunt Annie was living with my Grandpa Charlie Bradshaw at his home on Hwy. 27 in Alexis, NC. Becky B. Clemmer

I don't have any info. on his son JOHN, but maybe someone else does and will post it to the list. Anne
