Hi Gang! Who does this family belong to? 1850 Federal Census, Nottoway County, Virginia taken between June and October Name-Age-Sex-Occupation-Worth-Place of Birth (There was a last column for can't read or write which was not marked, so evidently all of them that were of age were able to read and write.) There is also on this same census for Nottoway a John T. BRADSHAW who is 20 yrs. old and living with a Richard M. GALLION & family. Richard is listed as a house carpenter and so is John T. Was John an apprentice? John is also listed as being born in Prince Edward Co., Va. Anne
Correct that marriage to 1823 for Daniel. It is getting late.
In a message dated 4/1/99 4:38:35 PM Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: << [email protected] >> Daniel is the son of Benjamin Bradshaw and Mary Rowlett. His father -(Benjamin's) was John Bradshaw and his mother was Margaret Clements. Daniel married Elizabeth Scott Marshall in 1805 and moved to Nottoway -not far - in the 1830s. The deedbook was burned by the Yankees in 1865 during Lee's retreat. Daniel's brother William also married a Marshall -Sister of Elizabeth.

Just wanted to thank you for the info. B.J. Now I have some place to start looking for records. Anne
Hello All, I just received this information yesterday and thought I would share it with you. If anyone has any questions, comments, or further information please post it to the list. Benjamin BRADSHAW & Mary ROWLETT m. Oct. 13, 1785, Prince Edward Co., Va. Children: Mary "Polly" b. abt. 1795, P. E. Co., Va. William Daniel John Benjamin, Jr. Edward Thomas Richard Peyton Sally Elizabeth Margaret Edith I don't have ANY information on these children other than the first one. Does anyone else have anything on this family? Anne
Anne, the only information I have on this branch of the family is as follows: Sarah (Sally) married Robert Flippen 25 Jun 1812 in PE County, VA Edward married Martha W. Carter 21 Nov 1826 in PE County, VA Daniel b 10 Jan 1800 Peyton born 1808 Margaret (Peggy) married John Watson 27 Feb 1798 in Shelby, KY What I have for a source in the above is the file from Mrs. Dreher. Unfortunately I have stored the file away and haven't recovered it yet. If I find more I will let you know.
Hi, I'm sorry, I had one more concern....I have Benjamin as a son of John BRADSHAW and Margaret "peggy" CLEMMONS; you have him as a son of William BRADSHAW and Mary LADD. Could you tell me what your sources are for this parentage? Thank you. Anne
Hi Vicki, Thank you for the info. on the family. I was wondering if you have copies of any of the original document with names on them in your posession? Birth records, death cert., marriage bond, etc. I would gladly pay you if you would send me copies of what you have as I have no documentation on this family as yet. This is the first time I have ever run across this problem with her name. As for her brothers and sisters, I'm beginning to think that maybe she didn't have any, although I can't find any reason why she didn't. In those days, because of all of the early deaths, they usually had as many children as possible. Since I have no dod for her mother, I don't know if she died young or not. Which leads me to my next question, how do you know Polly died in Owsley Co., Ky? Looks like my next record search starts here!! Does anyone have any information on Isham Isaiah Bradshaw? I believe that he was married to Susan Vinson. He is listed in the Arkansas census of 1860 in Washington County. I would like to know who his parents were. His son should be William Henry Bradshaw. I am trying to find information for a newly discovered Bradshaw friend (or possibly relative) in Washington state who believes that Isham was son of either Isaiah or Gideon. Thanks.
