Hi Mary, You have three ways to go for information from what you have sent. You can try writing to the vital records division in Louisiana for a birth certificate. They might be able to help you since you have her name and year of birth. You can write to La. for a marriage bond or certificate since you know the Parish and date. You can also write to the cemetery where she is buried if you know it or check with Hornbeck, La. for a death record. You might want to try the USGenWeb Louisiana archives also. I wish I could help you more but I don't have her in my data. Maybe someone else will. Good Luck! Hi Jeannie, Thank you so much. It is very rare for me to come across information on my direct line. I really appreciate the information. Do you know the address of the museum in Fredericksburg? I would like to find out more as there were eight children by two different wives. Also, one of his sons is said to have murdered someone and I would like to find out what happened. The last article or piece of information I can find is on June 16, 1870's Virginia Herald. Maybe they can help me. Thank you again. I don't have a lot about this family, but do have two deeds for John Jr.. In 1786, he bought 40 acres of land next to John Bradshaw's land. This will lists him as John Bradshaw, Jr. of Prince Edward County. In 1793, he sold 40 acres of land next to Margret Bradshaw's land. Margaret is listed as John Sr's wife in his 1787 will. John Jr. is referred to as John Bradshaw of Nottoway County in the 1793 deed where he sold his land. In it, his wife Winney revokes her right to dower in this piece of land. This may not be the John you are looking for. Richard W. Bratcher www.geocities.com/~dbratcher

This could be the reason why Isaac BRADSHAW moved his family to CA. "After 1860 Isaac left his wife and children in CA to join his brother William; together they operated a ferry across the Colorado River near La Paz, AZ. in 1862. Isaac was a carpenter; Sheriff of Yuma Co. 1864-65; Deputy Sheriff at La Paz 1870; moved to Yavapai Co. in the 70's where he mined at Copper Basin. He died of pnuemonia Christmas Eve, Dec 24, 1885, and his comrades buried him there at the Springs. "Meanwhile, Frances [COMBS] BRADSHAW applied for a homestead on May 14, 1866 in Santa Rosa in her own name. "Children of Isaac and Frances: 1. Catherine m William KERR 16 Feb 1862, Sonoma Co. CA 2.
