    3. Hello Alene, If no one else knows anything about this, and I don't think they do because there was never a reply to my last e-mail, I would be more than glad to share the cost of the research with you. Maybe others out there will notify you by way of the list that they would also. That way, we can split the cost of the research. Maybe this will finally give us what we need on this John. Have to cross our fingers! Please let me know when the time comes. Anne W. Bradshaw Musser [email protected] Fax: 603 - 849 - 0411

    1. [BRADSHAW-L] Dame Jane Skipwite
    2. Anne Musser, I believe, posted on this rootsweb a few weeks ago the following: "To all my nephew John Bradshaw's children 5 pounds. To my nephew Robert Bradshawe's children 5 pounds." From the will of Dame Jane Skipwite in 1629. I sent a message to a person in the United Kingdom who does research and he replied to me as follows: It seems that Dame Jane SKIPWITH (notice he spelled it differently) was the widow of either Sir Richard Skipwith or Sir William Skipwith both of whom were knighted in 1603. They both lived in Leicestershire and were related to Sir Henry Skipwith who was created a baronet in 1622. Sir Henry's grandson emigrated to America after the death of King Charles I to avoid persecution by Cromwell, the family being ardent royalists. The wills of Sir Richard and Sir William and further research into other records of this notable family should reveal the Bradshaw connection." Before I pay the fee he wants to find out what information he might have and how or whether this relates to us, I would like to know whether anyone already has researched this information and has it to pass along. Thanks. Alene Bradshaw

    1. [BRADSHAW-L] Edward Bradshaw
    2. Richard Steele
    3. Searching for info on Edward Bradshaw. Married Nancy Patterson in County Downs Ireland. I believe the oldest child was born in Ireland. They lived in Washington Co PA where son David was born 1817. They then moved to Tuscarawas Co Ohio. Trying to verify the children of Edward and Nancy. Edward was born about 1788 I think. The youngest child I know of for sure is Wesley born 1823 David and Wesley came to Iowa Madison Co. about 1854. Wesley married Peree Arnold in Ohio 1844. David married Mary Kale. Wesley's daughter Barbara married John Steele the brother of my g grandfather William Steele Someone is sending a copy of Edward's will. It has children Wesley, David, Joseph, William, George, Ann Brock, Margaret Hines, Sarah Rutledge, and Mary Oliver. Believe seven of this are childern but not sure of the other two. I have a Joseph Bradshaw married to Dorcas Arnold. She is Peree's sister. I do not know for sure if that Joseph is the son of Edward. I'm guessing it is. David and Wesley are buried near Truro Iowa. I have about put together the children of Wesley. Will be glad to share what I know. Richard Steele

    3. Hi, My paternal grandmother, "Sara1 Margaret MYERS", is dau of Thomas Alberry GARRETT of NC (Haywood CO., areas) and "Sara2 Margaret BRADSHAW" b abt 1875, of northern GA. Sara2 is the dau of "Robert BRADSHAW" b? and UNKNOWN HOOPER. This is all I have on her people. I can tell you anything about all of my other sides (I have over 10,500) direct ancestors so far, but I know nothing on my BRADSHAW's except what my grandmother's told me and she's up in her 90's. Surnames she can rememebr: BLACK ADAM HOOPER or HUPER TROTTER CHASTAIN (these names are her father's side and though I know they're orginally from the NC/SC areas, I've seen migration trails into GA). My grandmother's siblings: William Billy GARRETT b abt 1900 m. Elizabeth LOUIN Robert Tex Thurmond Clayton That's all I have. She resides in Hiawasee, GA in Towns Co., and her people were from northern GA. Would you know of this line or be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks ever so much. 2. Pat Muniz
    3. I derived the following information from the 1880 Carter County, Kentucky census. The last three columns in the census by Robert are KKK and by Elizabeth are OhVOh. Does this mean that Robert's mother and father were from Kentucky and that Elizabeth's father was from Vermont and her mother from Ohio? I have requested lookups for the 1850 Carter census with only one Bradshaw listed, Sarah Bradshaw. There is only one George Bradshaw in the 1870 Greenup Census. (Parent county of Carter) The Pryor Funeral Home in WV lists Orville Bradshaw birthplace as Grayson, Kentucky. I am writing for a birth certificate for my grandfather, Orville Bradshaw, since I have his birth and death date: 24 Mar 1878 to 18 Oct 1956. Does anyone have any recommendations about where to go from here while I wait to see if a clue returns with the certificate? Robert Bradshaw born approx 1832 and Elizabeth Howard born approx 1840 Their children are: Florence born approx. 1858 James born approx. 1860 Charles born approx. 1865 George born approx. 1867 Harry born approx. 1869 Frank born approx. 1872 Emma born approx. 1874 Orville born approx. 1878 ( my grandfather who later settled in West Virginia.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
