sorry about that!!! Here's the message..... BEALE, BREWER, BRADSHAW, MARTIN, COPELAND, LASSITER, FUTRELL, DICKERSON - I have information & I am seeking information on these lines, & on Jordan & John BEALE, & Robert BEALE & Holland BREWER BEALE, both of Isle of Wight Co., Va., who were married on Oct 29 1789 in Southampton Co., Va. Holland was the dau of William BREWER [d. 20 May 1778] & Martha of Isle of Wight Co., VA, & the granddau of William BREWER Sr. [d. 24 Feb 1749 Newport Parish, Isle of Wight Co. Va.] & Catherine. William BREWER is thought to be the son of John BREWER III, b. 1650, Isle of Wight Co., Va. After Robert BEALE's death in 1797, Holland BREWER Beale married Jeremiah BRADSHAW 4 Feb 1802. Robert BEALE & Holland BREWER BEALE had a daughter [?] & a son, Jordan BEALE [b. 10 Jan 1797 VA & d. 22 Dec 1857] of Potecasi, Northampton Co., NC. Jordan became a wealthy planter, merchant, justice of the peace & was the first postmaster of Potecasi, NC. Jordan married Rachel LASSITER abt 1819 & later married Thomas L! . COPELAND's widow, Elizabeth (Eliza) MARTIN COPELAND on 28 Mar 1842. Rachel LASSITER was the daughter of Joseph LASSITER & Elizabeth FUTRELL & the granddaughter of Sanders FUTRELL & Rachel DAUGHTRY who m. Sep 1767, & Jesse LASSITER & Mary who m. 1767. Sanders FUTRELL's mother was Elizabeth DICKERSON, daughter of John [d. 1749] & Rebecca DICKERSON [d. 1753]. All noted ancestors are thought to have lived in Isle of Wight Co., Va. and/or Northampton Co., NC. Hello List, I ran across this on the Isle of Wight page. Does anyone know anything about this family and especially this Jeremiah? Anne
Hi, I'm looking for Joseph Bradshaw b 8-26-1786 and his parents, migration track, etc.. I think he was born in NC. His son John appears in the 1880 Choctaw Co. MS census as being 55 years old and born in SC. His parents are said to have been born in NC. John is a problem since he has three possible years he could have been born. The bible, which was bought in 1785 and records Joseph's birth in 1786, records John in one place as 5-7-1822, the census age of 55 is close enough at 1825. Elsewhere all of Joseph's children are listed and John is stuck in the middle at 1834. Joseph's children are Thelma b 6-19-1827, Nancy b 10-25-1828, Irene b 7-28-1830, Mary b 7-17-1832, (John), Joseph b 5-9-1836, Margaret b 5-13-1838, Isaiah b 10-17-1840. I know that Isaiah was in the 34th Miss Infantry of the Confederate Army. I found a Joseph also in the 34th Infantry who died in 1917 and is buried in the Confederate Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. but I don't think that it could be Joseph the younger because he married Elizabeth A. Randolph 7-9-1861 and they had 3 children through the course of the war. Margaret Jane b 4-12-1862, John Thomas b 9-24-1863, ? R. b 12-5-1864 and (after the war) Nancy b 10-17-1867. I provide all this info in hopes that someone who knows about this branch of the Bradshaws will recognise someone. I'm really stumped. There is some support for John arriving in MS from Tenn. I know nothing about them except what my mother copied out of the old bible and I don't know where it is since it went to my grandfather's brother and on to his kids. Joyce
Searching for information on : ALEXANDER P. BRADSHAW born 1-13-1807 married ELIZABETH ALISON 11-1-1832 in Nicholas county KY they migrated to Putnam county IN 1839-1840 Alexander died there 4-3-1881 Elizabeth was born 6-8-1810 died 5-12-1881 both in Putnam countyIN
Hi, I am looking for Joseph Bradshaw who was born 8-26-1786 (in NC, I think). I have a bible that was bought in 1785 and recorded his birth on 8-26-1786. It doesn't say where. I think he was the father of John Bradshaw born May 7 (1822,25 or 34) but he could have been the grandfather. All I have is the census for John which puts his most likely birth at 1825 and says he was born in SC and his parents in NC and a list from the bible which shows John and his siblings as being born between 1825 and 1840. This could also make John and his siblings the product of a second marriage. So, does anyone have a Joe Bradshaw born in NC? John's siblings were Thelma b 6-19-1827, Nancy b 10-25-1828, Irene b 7-28-1830, Mary b 7-17-1832, ( gap where John shows up as b 5-7-1834 recorded elsewhere in the same bible as 1822), Joseph b 5-9-1836, Margaret b 5-13-1838, Isaiah b 10-17-1840. Isaiah served in the Confederate Army 34th Miss Infantry so John's family probably moved to MS while they were children. Joseph married Elizabeth A. Randolph on 7-9-1861. As they had 3 children during the course of the war I don't suppose he was in the army. Their children were Margaret Jane b 4-12-1862 (just under the time allowed!), John Thomas b 9-24-1863, R. b 12-5-1864, Nancy b 10-17-1867 (named after his siter also born in Oct.?). Does anyone out there recognise any of my family? Thanks Joyce
