I have discovered that a lot of people from KY, including some Bradshaws, did move further westward to Missouri and later Arkansas. I really think that most Bradshaws in this country are from that group that landed in colonial VA in the 1600s & spread from there. My Bradshaws went pretty much nowhere (except south to Somerset, Pulaski Co, KY to work for the railroads in the 1870s).

    2. Sunny, Do you know if your Arkansas Bradshaws were originally from Southern Illinois? Do the names Young E. Bradshaw and Sherrod sound familiar? My Bradshaws were in So. Illinois 1807-1820s and then in the Miller County petition to the President, Young E. was last found in about 1835 in Jefferson County. If any of this is familiar I would like to hear from you. 2. I'm not sure if this will help you but there are some books out, likely in your local library called "Cherokee by Blood" by Jerry Wright Jordan. There are at least 9 in the series and they all have the same title. Ms. Jordan transcribed the Gilleon and Dawes Rolls and some applications in these books, and it would be easy to find the Bradshaw name if they were indeed on the rolls. The name Claude Sebastian makes me think that he may have been born in Sebastian County Arkansas, or close to it. I know there were Bradshaws in Sebastian Cnty, Ark at one time, and some went into Oklahoma from there. I am from the Oklahoma group to date..just haven't gotten back far enough to find the Arkansas connection but I feel confident that the two are blended. Will try to find my notes today and see what I can offer you further. Have a good day, Sunny
