Hi All, I've been watching this grave marker thread on a few lists and just wanted to say - if they actually came off graves this is horrible. That said I wanted to add that there is another possiblity. When making arrangements for my mothers funeral with an friend of a friend who owns a funeral home I noticed grave markers leaning against the wall of his garage. I asked him about them and he said they were ones the government provides for veterans that were not used by the families. He keeps them so that a less fortunate family that can not afford a marker can have the marked side put to the ground or ground off and use it for their needs. Marianne
