Afternoon Bradley searchers, Newark, DE - centered around 1775 - A Thomas Bradley, not a soldier, drove a wagon load of shoemakers into Newark and they began working at the Newark Academy to make shoes for Washington's army. (It seems the academy was used pretty continously between 1775-1780 for this purpose) Tom had an eldest sister named Margaret who married one of the shoemakers ca 1778/79 - one William Lawrence. Tom was still living in Newark in 1818-21 because he wrote a letter supporting the pension application of William Lawrence for Will's Rev War service. Further, in Newark, in the old burying yard, I am told there is a stone for a Thomas Bradley, d 1763. Does anyone have data on this family?
