There have been so many stories about the Wisdom and the Bradley that I lose count of the stories.There are some flaws in the stories or there is no written proof to back up the stories and I am not the only ones.The one that confuses me the most is who do all the children belong to we have more children getting married than we have parents to fit the bill. So far this is all that I have that is based on fact.......Richard Married An ???in Orange County date unknown. He is referred to as Richard 1700. So I will start with him. Richard Bradley was born about 1700 place of birth ??? md about abt. 1725 in Orange County Virginia but no records.The Children are listed in the will of Richard St. Thomas Parish , Orange County Virginia, Will book 3 pg 96, Deed book,16, page 396. To William , all land bounded by Henry Woods line, Wm. Moore Wm. Lindsay and the new road...my son, James Bradley...to my son John and Richard Bradley..to my daughter Elizabeth Dear...after wifes death....to be equally divided between William Bradley and Ann Surley...give land to thomas Dear...appoint William Bradley and Ka,es smith Executors, now this will was signed Thursday 22 December 1785. Now I do not have a copy of the will, so I think that I am missing something....I hope some people can answer some of the things that confuse me. 1. If Laurence was his son why is he not listed in the will. It could be that I missed his name somewhere but...When we put the family group sheet together you will see that it appears that we are missing a generation. Example...John was born in 1730 and a lot of people use the 1829 will in Wilkes County as being his will that would have made him 99. Not impossible but it is a stretch... 2. Laurance Bradley was born about 1737 and died in Burke County abt 1811.This is a more realistic date. 3. Now to really throw this whole thing up for grabs I have a deed written to William Bradley from John Bradley...In this deed it is a promise that if William Bradley would care for John Bradley and his wife Lucreda Bradley he would get the rest of the land etc, Deed book M/N Wilkes county written Nov. 1829 Wilkes County. It is the exact land that John and Rachel owned and it is next door to Clarey Story the first daughter of John And Rachel. Yet I can find no marriage, nothing.I have one more thing that I would like to have some input.I have about 30 proven names of William Bradley that left Wilkes County before 1860. I think that it is important that you be aware of the names and abt dates. They went all over the place. It could be the key to some of the people you are looking for. I would like to give them to the group, so we can work together. But if no one is interested then I can just share all this information to the several that are interested. I do not want to waste any one time. This work is not gospel, but the Wilkes county has NEVER been worked out...I am almost afraid to say this for being slammed, But IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO WORK OUT FAMILIES.
