Warm Greetings to all Members, Contrary to some beliefs, the BRADLEY list has not died. When I started merging the BRADLEY-ROOTS list with the BRADLEY list, the BRADLEY-ROOTS list had 175 members and the BRADLEY list had 181 (some who were BRADSHAW and BRATCHER researchers). After the BRADSHAW and BRATCHER researchers departed and hopefully, all BRADLEY-ROOTS members not a member of the BRADLEY list have by now subscribed, I'm happy to report the membership stands at 245 subscribed members. I would like to generate activity on this list. Therefore, please consider submitting a query on your earliest known BRADLEY ancestor. To make it easier for list members to determine if there is a possible connection to their line, in the "Subject:" line please consider entering the ancestors full name, known year of birth and/or death (estimates are okay) and migration path. For example, a subject line may appear as follows: John Albert BRADLEY, 1728-1809, VA>SC>TN The address to send queries and other information to the list is: BRADLEY-L@rootsweb.com Please be aware that members subscribed in the digest mode (BRADLEY-D) will receive a digest of messages at 24 hour intervals or sooner if the size of the digested messages reach 40,000 bytes (40KB). If you elect to include descendant information on your earliest known ancestor, please remembers that your message cannot exceed 20,000 bytes (20KB) since the RootsWeb computer will reject it. A rule-of-thumb in estimating the size of a message is to use 2KB for each printed page (12 font) of your message. If you believe your message will exceed 9-10 typewritten pages in 12 font, divide your messages into parts 1, 2, etc. and send each part separately. This list belongs to each subscribed member and each of you should feel as you own a part of it. Please use the BRADLEY list to find new cousins and another generation or more of ancestors. I promise not to BITE if you think you will make a mistake and do so. My philosophy is to learn by our mistakes. Anyone desiring further discussion on using this list, please send a personal message to me at my personal email address. Let's all have FUN in searching for our ancestors and become one big BRADLEY family on the list. Warm regards, Jim Young <myoung@icok.net> List Moderator and RootsWeb Donor
