(F82) Sylvester Bradley, born December 25, 1836 to Stephen and Polly Fillinger Bradley on Morgan Creek, Lawrence County, Kentucky. He served as a Confederate soldier in the Battle of Middlecreek in the Big Sandy area. He was released early after contacting typhoid fever. Sylvester married Elizabeth A. Waldeck who was born Jan. 12, 1836. The marriage license was issued on Jan. 17, 1866. They bought property from Stephen and Polly Bradley. He was a farmer and spent all their lives there. Seven sons and a daughter were born to them: (1) William Monroe was born Dec. 26, 1866 and died Nov. 29, 1949. He married Martha Jordan Dec. 21, 1889 and settled and raised his family in Charleston, W.Va. (2) Andrew Dunlap was born Sept. 30, 1868 and died June 12, 1936. He married Martha Belle Murphy Gillium March 14, 1902. She was born April 12, 1882 and died May 31, 1959. (3) John Wesley was born Sept. 9, 1870 and died April 6, 1953. He married Myrtle Dinwiddie and they lived in Texas. (4) Iona was born Feb. 22, 1872 and died Jan. 11, 1949. She married Jesse Kelly Woods Dec. 18, 1895. He was born Jan. 21, 1862 and died Oct. 6, 1945. (5) James N. was born May 12,1874 and died March 1958. He married Laura Alice Adkins who was born April 19, 1876 and died July 7, 1952. (6) George Franklin was born Feb. 22, 1877 and died June 24, 1964. He married Minnie Chaffin Aug. 16, 1899. Frank was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, enlisting in 1898. (7) Landon was born Jan. 12, 1880 and died May 15, 1956. He married Ducie Shortridge who was born 1884 and died April 14, 1908. Landon's second wife was Gypsie Burchett born Dec. 15, 1890 and died Oct. 5, 1976. He ran a General Country Store and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. (8) Grover was born Sept. 16, 1886 and died Oct. 23, 1974. He married Gypsey Compton born Feb. 9, 1885 and died Aug. 8, 1960.
