Does anyone know if BRIGLEY is a variation on the BRADLEY name - a correspondent made this suggestion to me and I thought it might have occurred in other places - besides Nova Scotia or New Brunswick in Canada. Thanks Stewart LeForte
Hi Bratcher Researchers, I don't know how many of you feel the same as I do about this group. Previously when I posted to this group, the only response I received was how to format the SUBJECT line and I've observed the same with others sending posts. Forget the content...get the format correct. Since I moderate three surname lists, one with 50 and the other two with 100 plus members, I go out of my way not to impede communications on each of the lists. My personal welcome message has guidelines for entering a meaningful subject line; however, I don't jump on any anyone for not formatting it in accordance with the guidelines. All three of my lists have moderate to heavy traffic; however, in comparison, this list has a trickle of posts being sent. Perhaps, the reason for low activity is because many are concerned that they may not get the SUBJECT line formatted correctly. Now to my point on the above, if I receive anymore instructions on how to format a SUBJECT line, I shall consider unsubscribing from this list. By the way, for researchers working the family below, I'm in a group of eight researching this family line. Anyone is welcome to join our research effort and freely participate in the exchange of information. I have considerable information on the following BRATCHER family members except for Betsy, Obedience, Tempy, Isaac and Mary; and, I will share same and hopefully receive data in return to fill the gaps in my database. John BRATCHER was born about 1740 in Bedford County, Virginia. He died on 3 Dec 1821 in Campbell County, Tennessee. He was married to Jane CANADA in Bedford County, Virginia. Children of John BRATCHER and Jane CANADA were: i. John BRATCHER m. Nancy SHREWSBURY. ii. Charles BRATCHER m. Nancy. iii. Canada Sr. BRATCHER m. Rachel "Biddy" ROBINSON. iv. "Betsey" BRATCHER m. George HANNAH. v. Benjamin BRATCHER m. Elizabeth FERRILL. vi. Obedience "Biddy" BRATCHER m. Isham MEADOR. vii. "Temby" BRATCHER m. Mark EVANS. viii. William BRATCHER m. Susan Ann WALE. ix. Isaac BRATCHER m. Polly Crush THOMPSON. x. Mary "Polly" BRATCHER m. Stephen REESE. xi. Fielding BRATCHER m. Elizabeth "Betsey" MEREDITH. Warm Regard, Jim Young
Eli BRADLEY, b. 1782/1786; m. Irene TALLMAGE (b. c. 1792, West Springfield,MA), 1 Nov 1813 in West Springfield, MA. He died 20 Jan 1854 in Southwick, Hampden, MA. His death certificate indicates he was 68 years old, and was born in Southwick. Children: Maria, b. 3 Feb 1814, m. Rodney UPSON. Irene, b. c. 1819, d. 25 Aug 1842 (unmarried), and Wells Albert,b. 16 Mar 1822, m. Sarah Huldah PARKER. Eli's birth record is not available because the courthouse burned down in 1850. I suspect that Abraham BRADLEY of Hampshire/Hampden Co., MA may be his father. The index for probate records was missing for the BRADLEY names in Hampden Co. Does anyone connect to these people? I am looking for the parents of Eli BRADLEY and Irene TALLMAGE. Will share all info I have. Thank you. Hal Bradley
Is anyone researching Bradley in Cheshire?
Amelia Bradley was born in 1800 in Ruardean, Gloucestershire, England, daughter of William and Betty Bradley. Amelia married John MORGAN (he died Apr. 16, 1835 at Ruardean, age 40) and had a family of about six children. Amelia's second marriage was to Matthew TINGLE (b. 1813, Little Dean, GLCs, Eng.) son of George and Elizabeth TINGLE. Their children were Clara, Jane, George (b. 1845 at Little Dean) and John. I am interested in contacting other descendants and sharing family history information.
