With the next issue of The Boone Society newsletter now on the drawing board, I wanted to take this opportunity to contact at least some of our members and Very Important Friends to ask: * do you have a story to tell about the Boones or a related line? * have you scored a success in your genealogical research that our members would like to know about? * have you uncovered an important resource? * do you have access (even if it is only by mail or telephone) to an organization that can help us "get the word out?" If the answer to this is "yes," then please do! Secondly, Gene and I want to invite all members to think about running for the board of directors. And for our present directors, if you have a condensed bio that you can send to me, I would like to "show you off" to our newsletter readers, even if you aren't planning to stand for re- election. And lastly, planning for the June 17-20, 1998 Boone Family Reunion in Lexington, Ky. is moving along quickly. This will be a super affair, but we will need your help, both in Lexington and now. If you know of other Boone descendants and "friends of the family" who haven't been introduced yet to The Boone Society, won't you please do that now while there is still time for them to plan for next June? With thanks, and kind regards, Pete Holste Co-chair ------- FORWARD, End of original message -------

    2. James R. Marie
    3. Hi, Terry. Good to hear from you. I must have some bad information regarding my Bradley line. I posted it on the BRADLEY-ROOTS discussion the other day and you responded along with Neil Smith. You both have the same information. I have attached my family group sheets for John Bradley and his two wives: Diana and Mary Ledbetter. There are some differences between the information that I have and what you sent. These differences cause some real problems. I have Mary Ledbetter's birth year as 1745. You have their marriage as about 1755. I have their marriage as 1763 and the birth dates that I have for their children range from 1765 to 1776. I also have the John Bradley (1707-1778) as John (1739-1778) Bradley's uncle. Do I really have some bad data or do you have data that I don't have? You wrote: >John (1707) Bradley listed with brother, Isaac b)18 May >1705; their father listed as Edward b)ca 1680 > Do you have this reference? Please look over what I have and the comments above and see if you can help me work this out with some other references or copies of data. Thank you very much for your interest and help! Mary would have been 17 or 18 years old in 1763. I will use 1763 until it can be verified. For a list of Mary and John Goodbread's children see the Bradley folder. 1. BRADFORD or BRADLEY, Mary, b.1884, Bradford, England
    2. Marianne
    3. Looking for info on the ancestral family & siblings of my grandmother (Mary Ann BRADLEY b. 21 Apr 1884 ?) to Thomas and Harriet BRADLEY, of Bradford England. Have more info now. Mary Ann Bradley left UK for US after July 1910 and before mid 1914. I think she travelled with friend Louise Metcalfe who m. C. E. Gerrish of Sommerville, Mass. Mary returned to UK twice as Mary Ann Furbush, once circa 1921, once in 1948. Believe she had a brother named Charles, perhaps a sister named Pat. Had a niece named Wynne (last name not known), who married Jack Grice. Do not know the year, I would guess 1930's. In 1963 Wynne's address was 24 Lower School St, Low Moor, Bradford. Have several pices of mail in the 1910-1912 area addressed to Charley Bradley or Mary Bradley at 171 New Hay Rd, Wakefield Rd, Bradford. Have a piece of mail (hard to make out) addressed to Mr Thomas Bradley at 24 Binns(?sp) Rd, Bowling Birch? Lane, Bradford. Anyone have any ideas?

    1. Seaching For Family of Emma Baldwin
    2. Bill Madden
    3. I am interested in finding out more about my great-grandmother, Emma Baldwin, family. Below is all that I have been able to piece together. Some of it is contradictory because I have found the same names of cities (e.g. Kansas City KA or MO and counties (e.g. Pleasant Hill OH or MO or IO ) in differnet States. In fact, I understand that some of the orginal counties in selected States do not exist any longer. BALDWIN Emma; Pleasant Hill, OH>MO, USA/KS,USA>WA,USA; 1854-1919 My great, great-grandmother Emma Baldwin was born on February 21, 1854 in Pheasant Hill, Ohio (Clermont and Hamilton County) or in Pleasant Hill, Iowa (Polk County) or in Missouri on February 15, 1858. {Note: Available information about Emma is contradictory}. Emma’s mother first name was Maryann, but her maiden name is unknown. Her father was Frank Baldwin. He was possibly born in Missouri or Ohio. Emma married Carroll Bradley in the 1870’s. Carroll was from Ireland or Scotland. Emma gave birth to Martha a.k.a. Mattie on March 21, 1873 and Carrie in sometime in the 1876 in Missouri. Emma moved from Missouri to Seattle, Washington (King County) between 1890-1900. She moved there with her two daughters: Martha (Bradley) Taylor, Carrie Bradley, and her son-in-law, James “Valentine” Taylor. She died in Seattle (King County), Washington on June 28, 1919. Other names associated with BALDWIN are: TAYLOR, BRADLEY, MADDEN.

    1. Re: Brashear
    2. I am also surprised at the lack of Bradley information that has been done one the internet. I am up to my neck in another surname right name but I can promise in the near future I think there are plans under way to see if we can get the name going under way. It has been awhile since I have taken a long study look at the Bradleys. That name sounds or at least the spelling of the Word I have seen before..Look in the Wilkes County of North Carolina and Orange County Virginia. Pat

    2. Steve Kemp
    3. Hi all Bradley researchers ! I know very little a bout my Bradley ancestors but will share what I have in hopes that one of you may find a connection. My g-g-g- grandmother was Drucilla Bradley, born April 04 1795, died: Nov 27 1867 in or around Monroe County, Missouri. She married 1825 to Alexander Jennings who was born: Oct 06 1796. I know very little about Alexander or Drucilla except that Alexander was a descendant of a Jennings family from somewhere in Kentucky. They had a daughter Lucinda Jennings she was born Dec-15-1819 died, Sep 02 1881 in: Randolph County, Missouri, married 1st to a Givens, 2nd Wiley Sanders, Mar 17 1840 in: Monroe County, Missouri married 3rd to Rev. James Barton, of Monroe County, Missouri. There may have been other siblings but I don't have names. Thanks for any help! Steve Kemp
