    1. [BRADLEY-ROOTS-L] Benjamin Bradley Family
    2. Tommy W. Corder
    3. Searching for information on Benjamin Bradley of Monroe Co., Missouri. Married Margaret Campbell. They had at least two children: Margaret Bradley, married Jacob Dye November 25, 1841 in Monroe, Missouri; and Sarah Jane Bradley bn ca 1824 in Missouri, died December 1859 in Cooke Co. Texas. Married Rama Edward Dye. Benjamin and Margaret bought land in Monroe Co. Missouri in 1818. Benjamin evidently built and operated a mill there. The followin court action occured between them: No date. Decree of divorce issued by Margaret Bradley against Benjamin Bradley. Some years ago married. Had 10 children. She had received injuries at his hands. "She has at last been driven by cruel and inhumane treatment to leave your bed and board and that on frequent occasions you have used personal violence by wounding her body with stripes accompanied with threats which rendered her fearful of her life. Seeking custody and maintenance of minor children plus $55 per month plus restraining order. In the April term 1834. Margaret Bradley appeared to say she would no longer prosecute her action. Benjamin evidently married second a woman named Peggy as they conducted land transactions in Monroe Co. Mo. and listed as man and wife. Will gladly share information. Tommy W. Corder corder@msn.com

    3. These informative items were found in the Prewitt-Pruitt-Pruett Newsletter for January 1998. Until the last century, a mother had no legal custody of her children. The term 'orphan'meant only that the father was dead. The ten most common surnames in the US are: Smith, Johnson, Williams, Jones, Brown, Davis, Miller, Wilson, Moore and Taylor. Missouri birth and death records have been reduced from $22 to $10 from the Missouri Bureau of Vital Records, PO Box 570, Jefferson City, MO 65120 The 'Nashville Banner' now features a genealogical column which will publish queries of interest to middle Tennessee area. Address: Genealogy Column, Nashville Banner, 1100 Broadway, Nashville,TN 37203. Hope this helps with your research. Jane George

    2. Bob Delaney
    3. Hi all, I really hate to ask for favors, but if there is anyone on this list that lives near either Syracuse, NY or Albany, NY and has easy access to NY marriage records, I'd be very grateful for some help. My great-grandfather, Matthew John Delaney married a Martha Isabel Bradley, in Syracuse, NY. The marriage should have taken place sometime between about 1895 and 1903. If anyone would be able to help, let me know. I will gladly reimburse them for expenses. I understand the state of NY takes 14 months to fill a request for a marriage record lookup! I would very much enjoy corresponding with Bradley folks who lived in and around Morgan Co, IN, especially those who descend from the Bradley-Blunk marriages. Mary Ann Bradley married William Blunk 17 Aug 1871 and Jasper Blunk married Florence Bradley. William was an uncle of Jasper Blunk. Florence was a niece of Mary Ann Bradley. William and Mary Ann Bradley Blunk were my great grandparents. Their son, Henry Alton Blunk of Martinsville, Morgan Co, In, was my grandfather. Thanks for any contact from Blunk/Bradley cousins. 2. Joel Dickinson
    3. Joseph, you may have seen the Bradley Bible posted on other county pages, but it was donated to our local museum (Springdale, Washington Co., Ark.). It basically lists the following family: Thomas Bradley b 25 Dec 1762 Married Elizabeth Taylor b 7 oct 1765 Children: Henry Bradley b 6 Jun 1783 Duplin Co., NC m. 3 Jul 1823 Fountainhead, Sumner Co., TN. Wives:Nancy Hall and Rebecca Alley Daniel Bradley b 12 May 1785 Susanna Bradley 12 May 1788 Thomas Bradley 28 May 1791 Luke Bradley 16 May 1794 John Bradley 16 Jun 1797 Eley Elizabeth Bradley 12 Jul 1800 The Bible just lists names and dates and with the help of a desc. of Henry Bradley, I have pieced the Bible names into a family. She lists the children of Henry Bradley b 1783 as: Seth Henry b 16 Nov 1825 Lucinda "Lucy" b 17 Aug 1827 m. John Gimlin Rebecca b 27 Mar 1829 m. John Mitchell Thomas Jefferson b 15 Feb 1831 Andrew Jackson b 28 Jan 1833 Samuel Carroll b 1 May 1834 m. Mary E. Baker (he went to Benton Co., AR) John Taylor b 26 Jun 1836 George b 25 April 1838 Dubois Co., IN Dosha Ann b 31 Jul 1840 James b 5 Nov 1843 Silas b 8 May 1845 Alfred b 21 Apr 1851 I'm thinking that your Richard Bradley should tie into this family. The other researcher believes that Thomas Bradley (b. 1762) was the son of a Richard Bradley who m. a Mitchell. If this is the case, could be your Richard was a family name. According to the Bible and the Henry Bradley desc., this Bradley family and/or their offspring moved from Duplin Co., NC to Sumner Co., TN to Benton and Johnson Co., AR. I would appreciate your thoughts on this Bible family. Cindy Dickinson At 02:00 PM 12/10/97 -0600, jmg@lodelink.com wrote: >Hello rooters, Looking for info on a Richard BRADLEY of Duplin County, >NC. 1. Wisconsin and Virginia Bradleys
    2. Jane Malone-George
    3. I am new to the Bradley rootsweb but perhaps I can help with an idea of places to search. The Wisconsin Bradleys - there should be a 1910 Soundex Census for Wisconsin and the film of this soundex census can be ordered from a local Latter Day Saints Family History Center. A librarian at the center can help with the proper name code and then you can order the correct film. This should list all the Bradleys in WI alphabetically by first name who resided in WI in 1910. Children are listed in families so the film must be carefully read. Your g-grandfather at age 6 should be residing with his parents if they are alive. John Robinson Bradley born in Virginia and died in Missouri. Have you tried the 1850 census for Franklin Co, VA, to see if there are other Bradleys close to J.R. and family? This film should also be available for order through a local Latter Day Saints Family History Center. It is possible that you have tried these two census searches. However, I thought I would suggest them anyway. Good hunting!! Jane George jmgeorge@dubuque.net
